If you could skip one park... (need suggestions)

It depends on what you like. No, DHS isn't a full day park for most people. I love Epcot, but I've heard people say there isn't much to do there either. I think MK is a 1.5 or 2 day park though.

The park hopper debate is interesting, too. Trying to do all 4 parks in 2 or 3 days can get crazy. You really have to plan out your days well, or you'll waste time hopping around parks.

I agree that both parks offer something, but neither offer a full day. I think that either choice would be ok, but for me I'd go to AK. First, the theming and decor is so different than the other parks, and Pandora is something so new, I have to see it.

In all honesty this is a question you just can't ask others. You clearly know the parks and what is in each of them so if you're set on 3 days of 1 park per day you have all sit down and find out between AK and DHS what you want to skip. And frankly, with all the changes happening in the parks, it's not even worth asking this question until right before FP opens. Make your restaurant reservations at both parks if you need to and decide which park to skip after Toy Story opens and reports come in.

Actually that’s a good idea. If we didn’t get fastpasses this year for Navi River Journey we were going to skip AK. We ended up getting them so we worked our way slowly through AK until it wasn’t our fastpass time.

I’m probably in the minority but even with pandora we didn’t think animal kingdom was that great. We ended up leaving by 3 pm and had more fun at Hollywood studios.

Me too. I had way more fun at HS than AK.

This was our niece’s first trip, she is 9. She said tot and rnrc were her favorite rides. No one in our family felt the need to ride fop more than once but we rode both of the hs rides more than two times.

Much of HS is still a construction site, and to be honest, Toy Story Land isn't a big draw for us, with our youngest child being 14 now. None of us ride ToT, and 3/5 of the family aren't interested in RnRC. 3 of us enjoy Star Tours, 2 won't. That makes for slim pickings as far as spending a whole day there.

We have the same problem at DHS. We don't ride ToT or RnRC. We used to ride Star Tours, but it hurt my back on the last trip and we won't be able to ride it again. We tried Fantasmic and the Little Mermaid show and didn't like it. My kids are too old for the Disney Jr. show.

On our last trip, we did TSMM twice, Start Tours three times (the last time hurt my back), Indiana Jones, Frozen show, Muppetvision, One Man's Dream, Beauty & the Beast show, and that was it. We had done Launch Bay and the meet and greets on previous trips and didn't do those again.

IMHO, we left at 5pm, but only because we took a two hour break and rested while waiting for our FP to ride TSMM again.

We truly enjoyed the backstage tour, the Great Movie Ride, and Lights Motors Action. With those attractions, and the afternoon parade, we could make a day out of it. We still enjoy Fantasmic, the Little Mermaid Show, and Muppetvision 3D is actually one of our favorite attractions. However, there just isn't enough there to fill a day for us, and we aren't interested in spending the money on park hoppers just to have half a day at DHS, so we will skip it probably until the new Star Wars land is open. In the meantime, AK (which we have skipped in the past) has so much to do and see now that it is a 2 day park for us this year.

I would do a half day at one of the parks on arrival day, and the other day I would do a half day at the other park and split it with resort time if wanted (assuming you arrive early enough on arrival day).

Yes normally we do. We normally have a 9/9:30 flight down and get to the airport around 11:30 (we fly from Philly). We were eating at the resort this time by 1:30 and at the parks by 3. We just got back less then a week ago but we’re always thinking about the next trip. I’m thinking we will probably end up buying 4 park tickets but skip park hopper to get both in since even a year out we can’t agree on skipping a park lol
