How about:
Teppan Edo, in Japan. This can be fun depending on your chef and the others at your table. And the food is always good, and served hot.
Biergarten - for Lunch or Dinner. This includes a show and you'll be seated with other guests. To save money go to (late) lunch and you'll save about $7 each. It's a buffet so you can eat all you want. $20 + tax for lunch.
Character buffets are also a good value for the money. I really like
Park Fare at GF. Dinner is $30/tax but breakfast is only $20/tax and you can get seated as late as 11:30 so that really makes it lunch. And, my experience eating at PF has always been good, and even with late seating they continue to replenish the food until all guests are done. The food is very good here.
Boma at AKL. This is an excellent, non-character buffet. The food is good and even if you're non-adventurous in eating, there is plenty to eat here. Dinner is $27/tax and breakfast is $17/tax. Breakfast seatings are until 11 a.m. I haven't done breakfast yet, but I've read very good things about it. Plus walking around AKL is awesome. The animals are really cool!
Another character buffet choice could be
Princess Storybook Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. B is $23/tax, L is $25/tax, and D is $30/tax. The food here is good, however, you can feel rushed to leave once the princesses have made their rounds.
50's Prime Time Cafe at DHS is another good choice. The decor is really "neat" and your server can make the experience even better! The food is good here too. I personally don't like the fried chicken everyone else seems to rave about, however, my DM and I love the pot roast and find it plenty to share, especially if we have an appetizer (like the onion rings) and dessert. Also good is the glazed salmon. And again, lunch is a little cheaper than dinner.
Finally,
Raglan Road, at DTD has good food, and live entertainment. They have a band and a dancer. Many of the entrees here are enough to share. My favs here are
It's Not Bleedin' Chowder and
Ger's Bread 'n Butter Pudding. I go back just for those alone!
If I was recommending a fun, less expensive TS for my DNiece who is a grad student at U of U, these would be my choices (if she was paying her own way).
HTHs.
