Table Service, which would you? My sister and I are going down for a Birthday Trip (21!) June 10-14th. She wants to go to one table service restaurant. We are poor college students and are strapped for cash. (We are selling back books for food money!;) ). So given the qualification that you want to eat at a fun restaurant, but dont have that much money to spend, where would you go??:confused3

Being poor recently out of college couple I would choose either BlueZoo in the Dolphin, it is our favorite meal we have ever had on property, but it was almost empty and a heavy seafood menu. Or the California Grill, that is the place it you want the atmosphere, you can see the castle from the restaurant, and its especially magical if you are there during the fireworks. If you want to go very inexpensive we had a late lunch at Le Cellier, I think we each got a bowl of their amazing soup, split a steak sandwich (also incredible), and had dessert (moose mousse) and a beer for $40 including tax.

Hope that helps.

GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!

How about:

Teppan Edo, in Japan. This can be fun depending on your chef and the others at your table. And the food is always good, and served hot. :)

Biergarten - for Lunch or Dinner. This includes a show and you'll be seated with other guests. To save money go to (late) lunch and you'll save about $7 each. It's a buffet so you can eat all you want. $20 + tax for lunch.

Character buffets are also a good value for the money. I really like Park Fare at GF. Dinner is $30/tax but breakfast is only $20/tax and you can get seated as late as 11:30 so that really makes it lunch. And, my experience eating at PF has always been good, and even with late seating they continue to replenish the food until all guests are done. The food is very good here. :cloud9:

Boma at AKL. This is an excellent, non-character buffet. The food is good and even if you're non-adventurous in eating, there is plenty to eat here. Dinner is $27/tax and breakfast is $17/tax. Breakfast seatings are until 11 a.m. I haven't done breakfast yet, but I've read very good things about it. Plus walking around AKL is awesome. The animals are really cool! :woohoo:

Another character buffet choice could be Princess Storybook Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. B is $23/tax, L is $25/tax, and D is $30/tax. The food here is good, however, you can feel rushed to leave once the princesses have made their rounds. :confused3

50's Prime Time Cafe at DHS is another good choice. The decor is really "neat" and your server can make the experience even better! The food is good here too. I personally don't like the fried chicken everyone else seems to rave about, however, my DM and I love the pot roast and find it plenty to share, especially if we have an appetizer (like the onion rings) and dessert. Also good is the glazed salmon. And again, lunch is a little cheaper than dinner.

Finally, Raglan Road, at DTD has good food, and live entertainment. They have a band and a dancer. Many of the entrees here are enough to share. My favs here are It's Not Bleedin' Chowder and Ger's Bread 'n Butter Pudding. I go back just for those alone!

If I was recommending a fun, less expensive TS for my DNiece who is a grad student at U of U, these would be my choices (if she was paying her own way).:goodvibes

HTHs. :yay:

O'Hana is fun for dinner. It's $25.99 per person but it's all you can eat and includes the non-alcoholic drink too. There are coconut races, singing and the hula. DH and I always try to sneak this one in.

Biergarten and Crystal Palace are good but I'd do a late lunch. You get the dinner food at the lunch prices as well as the other stuff going on.

Whispering Canyon Cafe there are lots of things going on there and the food isn't that bad. However, if you do a late lunch not as much is going on.

There is a complete listing of menus and prices on Allears.net which might help you out . . . .

Maybe Raglan Road in Downtown Disney ? Good food, and if you go during the right time in the evening, there's entertainment (a band playing and usually an Irish dance or two . . . )

Another idea, if you are not tied to a sit-down meal per se but are looking for entertainment - what about having dinner in Downtown Disney, maybe at Wolfgang Puck Express (which is actually a counter service with table service), and buy a pass to the clubs in Pleasure Island - for $23 or so you can get a pass good for admission to all of the clubs, including the Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Club. Just a thought . . . . .

I would do Beirgarten. The food is pretty good and the beer plentiful!

Ashleigh, what kind of budget are we talking? Signature? Moderate price?

I assume no characters, right?

In park or out of park?

So many choices!

Here is a link to the menus here on the DIS

There are so many great places for you and your sister to dine.

WCC can be alot of fun. Then there are dinner shows, HDDR or the luauu (a tad more though)

Is beer important? Biergarten or Raglan Road could be good for that. Raglan Road has evening entertainment too, that might be a fun evening.

Then there is having a birthday dinner with pooh and friends.

Ok, so that is the whole gamut. More confused yet? :confused3

If you are strapped for cash the best TS value on WDW property is over at Ft. Wilderness...Trails End Buffet.

If you are looking for a fun, enjoyable meal with a little enterainment on the side then I'd go with Ohana.

I think we are thinking in park. Probably moderately priced. Thanks all for the responses.:thumbsup2

My girlfriends and I went during our school break last year and loved Coral Reef in Epcot. We also ate at Mama Melrose in DHS which was very good (flatbread = yum!)

I know it's not in the park, but I would definitely vote for 'Ohana! For in the park, I would vote for Rose & Crown at Epcot. Try to time it so you can sit on the patio and watch Illuminations. My husband and brother-in-law LOVE women with English accents so they always want to go there to talk with the servers and somehow we always get seated on the patio :rotfl:

I would suggest either Biergarten in Epcot or Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom since you are on a budget

Definitely a lunch buffet. You can budget before you leave home because it is a fixed price. The buffet includes drinks and desserts. I find that ordering from a menu can can have hidden expenses (like $3.00 drinks). Disney restaurant entrees are expensive relative to restaurants I frequented when in college.

A lunch buffet is less expensive than a dinner buffet and the food is generally the same and definitely just as delicious. Our park favorites are Crystal Palace in MK and Tusker House in AK. If you visit allearsnet.com, you can view the menus and prices. If you go for lunch, don't forget to get a fastpass before you eat.

My absolute favorite place to eat in the parks is Crystal Palace. It is a character buffet but it is so much fun and the food is really delicious. I've never been for breakfast but I've been for lunch many times and dinner once! My sister visits every year and always wants to go back there!
