If you could only pick 1 restaurant...

Do not go to Boma!! We were very disappointed! My vote is for Ohana!

I agree! My kids left hungry and I did not do much better. And I love soups and different foods. The atmosphere is also lacking. Ordinary buffet. AKL IS great but this restaurant is not very impressive IMO. We enjoyed our dinner but did not LOVE it. Crystal Palace for dinner, however, is fabulous. Character interactions, great and wide-ranging food varieties and a beautiful atmosphere. Our only repeat restaurant. We have to do it each trip. The food is never less than great and lots of desserts. No rushing.

Happy planning!

Le Cellier, hands down. Easily the BEST place to get a steak at WDW. If you want atmosphere for the kiddies, though, try to get a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table. It isn't as tastey as some of the other places, but it's definately one of those things that will stay with you no matter how old you get (or how many times you go back!).

Crystal Palace, Ohana or LeCellier would be my picks with kids. CP for the food and character interaction, the dinner was very good, Ohana is just plain fun and you have a great view of the fireworks and the kids love the games food hit or miss, LeCellier is my new favorite place right now. Great food but a bit more grown up but still Ok with kids the coffee rubbed Kanas City strip was wonderful.

My choice would be BOMA 100% of the time. The press pot is also my favorite coffee at WDW.

With kids, I would pick 'Ohana. The food is GREAT, it's family style (all you can eat), lots of variety, and a set price. The atmosphere is fun for adults and children, there is a limbo contest for the kids, and parades where your children can join in and play various instruments.

I also vote for 'Ohana - there is entertainment in the Lounge while you wait, entertainment during dinner, you get leis, tons of great food (if the kids don't like it they will substitute a kid's meal), it's a set price and the location is beautiful. If you time it right, you can go down to the beach after dinner and see the electric water parade and catch Wishes over the lagoon. It's beautiful and so worth it. I think you would get the most bang for your buck here.

I absolutely LOVE Boma and it is our one repeat for our next trip. Even DD loved it and requested it again. But if we're talking our one and only restaurant for dinner, I think I'd have to go with something more themed.

I am in the absolute minority here, but I didn't think Ohana was all that great, or all that fun. Weird, I know, because I usually love what everyone else loves. :confused3

With the kiddies, I'd almost have to pick a character meal. If the kids are princesses, CRT or 1900 Park Fare. If they're pirates (depending on age), I'd go with Crystal Palace. The food will be good anywhere (if not great), but the character thing with kids is so memorable for your only dinner.

Have a great time. You really can't go wrong! :wizard:

For one dinner with children I suggest Crystal Palace.

I like Boma for one dinner - just adults. I think the kids would like Crystal Palace better.

Depending on your kids ages, I'd say Crystal palace for younger kids and O'hana with either younger kids & older kids.

2 more votes for Ohana. Yes, I get 2 votes cause I just yelled into the other room and asked Princess Fontaine where she would eat if she could only go one place.

Ohana!!!

DD11 and I both vote O'hana's! GREAT atmosphere! LOVED the bread pudding, hula dancing lessons, and music! It's also great to visit the Poly if you haven't been there before.

Another vote for Ohana's! Tons of great food all brought out to you on these HUGE skewers that were roasted on the nearby fire pit.

I haven't been, but I would think Sci Fi would be another great place to go for the atmosphere. People ususlly say the hamburgers are pretty good.

I wouldn't pick Boma, because it might not be a place that everyone likes. In addition to their more adventurous items; they have food like pizza, or chicken tenders. But if you don't happen to like the more unusual stuff, and are stuck with the "usual CS fare" you might not have that memorable of an experience. Just MHO.

One other place that might be fun if you can squeeze in one more Disney restuarant is Beaches and Cream. The kitchen sink is $21.99. It's Eight Scoops of Ice Cream served with all the Toppings in the house and a whole can of Whipped Cream. How fun would it be to take the kids to that!

'Ohana is not my favorite but the rest of my family loves it. With kids I would not go to Boma, again, I loved it but my family did not.

Are your children girls? I would take them to 1900 Park Fare for the Happily Ever after dinner. Cinderella and Prince Charming. But the big draw is Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters. They are a hoot!

Crystal Palace for dinner is very nice as well.
