Hi everyone. I'm new to this board. I've been reading it for a while and now I thought I would join in. Great discussions here. I was reading another board about theme park tickets and I was thinking what would I do if I could create my own perfect Disney ticket, what would it be! I know I want one that is cheaper for sure but thinking reasonably, I wish Disney would give us a bigger break on the bigger tickets. I can't believe a 7 day ticket is around $330 per person. That's about $48/day which is cheaper than buying a single day ticket for 7 days but you would think they could give us a bigger discount if we bought these longer tickets. I would even give up all that other stuff on the ticket like hopping and water parks if it was cheaper. What about you all? Happy Holidays!

Welcome mm4ever,

Great topic idea.

I wish that they would offer a 1 day Park Hopper or a 2 day Park Hopper. I would even pay MORE than the $50/day if they would offer that.

For example, we want to go to WDW before our 7 day cruise but we don't want to get a longer ticket (yes, I know they are good forever, but I always seem to lose things).

It would be awesome if we could buy a 1 or 2 day park hopper.

How about a lifetime pass? If I added up all the annual passes I've bought , hmmm.....

If I could make my own ticket, I would make the Annual Passes and Seasonal passes plastic with a photo on them.

I still can't believe that Disney uses paper annual passes.

:)

Flibbity - The Florida resident passes used to have your picture on them! The original ones were laminated cards with a pic. Much like the old style driver's licenses. They stopped that and went with the Biometrics finger scan. So that has been done before - don't see them going back to that - to time consuming to get them
done.

The paper APs are kinda flimsy. It seems odd that the voucher is sturdier than the actual pass.

A loyalty ticket...a ticket that became cheaper to use each year based on your annual " spends " as WDW.

The more AP's, resort stays and meals you buy the more Disney discount to encourage return business. :earsboy:

I would love to see 1 or 2 day park HOPPERS! When we are visiting family in Florida we only have a day or 2 to see the parks and usually just buy 1 day/1 park tickets. A 1 or 2 day hopper would let us have so much more to see & do.

I would love to see all tickets look like the plastic room key card rather than be paper.

Also, how about being able to add ANY ticket to your room key card! I think you can only have UPH on there right now (correct me if I am wrong!).

And I also think that it would be great if onsite resort guests received discounted hoppers.

I think the 1 or 2 day hoppers is a really good idea. Did any of you take advantage of the fairytale package? Some of my friends did and they thought it was great. I wish Disney always had a buy a 7 day ticket for the price of 4. That would be $200 instead of over $300. Should I keep dreaming or what? What do you think would be better, the 1 or 2 day hoppers or a cheaper 7 day ticket? Would love to hear what other people think.

Just a bit of trivia here ... those passes are NOT paper, but actually made of flexible plastic fibers. This comes direct from one of my public relations contacts at WDW (I work at a newspaper). They make them from this rather than rigid plastic for APs specifically because of all the abuse they take over a year. They get washed, sat on, etc, and rigid plastic would snap, get scratched, or damaged beyond the ability to use them.

FYI...

Well that being said I would still want the plastic cards like Universal. Oh but thanks for the information, you are a good source for trivia questions. Try who wants to be a millionaire. I see a cruise in your future :). Also going along with these cards, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET RID OF THOSE FINGER SCANNERS. They are absolutely, positively, ridiculously long. I think half of the time they malfunction. You put your fingers in and it recognizes 6 of the 8 points. Then the worker resets it and you try again. Man why don't they do like a digital thumb print. I think that would really move the line faster.

Now going really crazy, For annual passholders, they should have little lights on the passes and when you go through the gate of the park, a little speaker overhead will say "Annual Annual." Makes you feel special.

More info on the Annual Passes: Have you ever tried to rip one of those things? It's impossible. They may look like paper, but they are not. Far more durable than you think. Still, I remember to old plastic ones that you had to have your picture on. Memories...;)

I would make Disney Quest one of the plus options.

I agree with Buzz2400.

I would love for Disney Quest to be one of the plus options.

But alas, it will never happen. DQ is an indoor space that cannot possibly hold the number of people who would try to go if it was a plus option. All the other plus option venues can handle thousands of people, even PI. DQ cannot.

"Here, here," for DisneyQuest as a Plus.

As an aside, I'm attending a medical conference in Orlando during late May 2004 and the organizers have posted “Disney Discounts” on their website:

4 Park Hopper Passes:
4 Day: $212 Adult/ $169 Child
3 Day: $160 Adult/ $128 Child
2 Day: $107 Adult/ $85 Child

One Day Park Pass:
2 Day Park Pass (After 2 PM): $75
1 Day Park Pass (After 2 PM): $42

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out for whom this is a ‘discount.’ Correct me if I am wrong or if I'm missing something, but isn’t a 4 Day Hopper Pass $208 Adult/ $167 Child at the gate and $192 Adult/ $152 Child when purchased in advance? The site doesn’t say anything about sales tax, so I don’t know if it is already included. They do quote, “These parkhopper passes, at these special rates, are not available to the general public and allow you to park hop from one Disney part to another on the same day.” Oooh, can’t wait to take advantage of this deal.

10 Day Hopper Plus - Valid for 3 years from first day of use.

10 days in any of the 4 major WDW theme parks with the ability to hop.

5 plus options to include admission to Disney Quest, PI, WWoS, BB, TL, RC, Fantasia Gardens, and Winterland Summerland Golf.

Total Price $500 Adult and $375 Child.....this would of course include tax and shipping charges. The pass would have a photo ID and be a laminated/plastic sort of card.

This would suit me just about perfectly. Maggie

I must be strange or something, because they've already made the ticket that suits me.....THE PLAY 4 PASS FOR FL RESIDENTS. DH and I only spend 4 days in the parks anyway so it's a perfect ticket. We don't park hop much, but instead we just do return trips to the same park in one day. :D

I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in. I guess people are happy with what is available now. :)
