The town where the Gilmore Girls live. Stars Hollow I think. I know, it's probably a fictitious town, but it sure seems quaint and lovely. I like towns where people walk everwhere and know everyone.

In reality - I think I would like to live somewhere in the Florida Keys. I like laid back funky lil towns. That $130,000 would probably go a long way in a casual lil town like Key Largo.

I love San Francisco, but I am not sure I could do it on 100 k sooo Chicago? Kansas City is fine I guess. DH and I talk about it alot and really wherever you live if near a city is fine because anymore the amenities are the same everywhere. Family is always our consideration. Even if you live near the mountains or beach, how often do you really get to go there?

Well, the companies here are hiring again. The prices of homes is a lot less than anywhere else in the country. The bad thing here is the schools! They are horrible here!

I know you said we had to live in reasonable commuting distance from a city, but really, I think I would like to live in the west, like Montana or the Dakotas...in the middle of nowhere. I read an article once many moons ago about some towns recruit teachers out there and give them a place to live and a really great salary, but the catch is the nearest city is like 3 hours away. I think that would be okay with me.

Primarily, I'm in the programming side -- mostly with financial applications. I'm not actually looking for a job (or looking to move, since we built a new house), but if I was to move...

New England is SO beautiful. Connecticut is still pretty central, I could easily go to the city, Boston, the ocean, and most other places in New England without a long drive.
