I think we had a thread like this recently, but I wanted to make this one realistic.

If you could live anywhere within the continental US.

You need to be within reasonable communting distance to a reasonably sized or larger city.

Money is an object. You need to be able to start and raise a family with a salary of apporx. $100-130K.

Where would you live?????

Somewhere outside of Las Vegas. I love the desert and I love the mountains in NV, so that's probably where I'd pick.

$100 - $130K ??? That's like 8 times what I make now and if I can live in the Boston area on that, I think I could live off a 6 figure salary anywhere...

I would move back to Virginia Beach. I have always wanted to live in Florida but Virginia Beach is where I grew up. The school systems are great and I still have friends there. Traffic doesnt bother me I am one of those people who actually like driving in a lot of traffic so that wouldnt bother me either.

I'd stay right here in Maryland! We live about halfway between D.C. and Baltimore. We're close enough to the ocean and the mountains. We like the diversity of people. There is so much to do, and so many great educational places to take our kids as they grow up. We love the weather here...all 4 seasons. The cost of living is on the rise, still, but if one is making over 100K then a new house is certainly doable.

I grew up in Michigan and moved here when I was 19, I don't see us living anywhere else (by choice)! Now my dh's job may take us other places, but hopefully not...

Starting and raising a family nicely on $100K is not really achievable where I am living now. I think I'd live in northern NJ. Beautiful there, convenient to everything.

I wouldn't need that salary to live where I would want to, but it woudl be very very nice to have. I would want to live in the Tampa, FL, area. Something about the gulf coast really is beautiful to me :)

I was going to say NYC because I've always wanted to live there, but that's probably one of the only places in the US where 100K wouldn't get you too far.
So I say Carmel, CA. I have always loved it there! Or Santa Barbara. Somewhere on the coast of CA near Disneyland!

I would say probably Florida. I live in Michigan now, which is great in the spring and summer --but winter is a whole other story!!

I like Orange Beach Alabama. You still get to enjoy the beautiful white sand and blue green water that comes from Perdido Key Florida being on the border but you don't have to deal with all the partying teenagers all the time. It is quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. I would love to move there and raise my children.

A nice upscale suburb of a major city on the east coast. DC, Boston, Atlanta, NYC, Philly...any suburbs of those cities are great!

Celebration.

I love the style of the homes and it just looks like a beautiful community. Being so close to my happy place is a major place too

I'd love to live either near Seattle Washington or Portland Oregon. I have always wanted to live in one of those two states - doubt it will ever happen, but those are my choices!
