If You Could Go Anywhere.....

Has anyone been to Belize????? Your thoughts, please.

I started planning a trip to Ireland, Bed & Breakfast, castles, and sight seeing, but after talking to many people, they kinda talked me out of it.

They all said, that no matter what month you pick to go, it will be cold and raining.

Not my kind of anniversary, maybe I'm just so darn sick of this winter and all that snow, that I want sun.

So has anyone be to Belize?????

I would love to go to Bora Bora, but it's would be such a long flight for us. We are on the east coast.
Yes!! It is the best place ever! We have only been once, for a week, but we would both go back there in a heart beat. It is beautiful, fairly close to US (3 hour flight from Dallas), native language is English, they take the dollar, the people are so friendly, and warm, sun, beaches and clear waters!!! We stayed in San Pedro (Ambergris Caye), it has a little town area, but they hVe other islands that are less populated and supposed to be romantic (Caye Caulkner, Placencia). We spent one day away from the island, on the main land. We flew a little hopper into Belize City and took a private tour to Xunantunitch Ruins (those are must see), and then we went cave tubbing. Our guide told us all about Belize it was fantastic. From San Pedro you can take a little boat ride to Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan, those are also a MUST. Snorkel with sting rays and nurse sharks, then see the second largest barrier reef in the world.

Just recently my husband was talking to this girl that is getting married, they were all set to go to Cancun for their honeymoon, they have now changed location to Belize. Lol.

We went over spring break with our kids, They loved it too, it is ideal for everyone though, kids or no.

For those talking about cruises, we went on our first over New Years, on board the Breeze. We went to Cozumel, Jamaica and Grand Caymen. We loved it. We came home and started researching our next cruise right away. Lol. We are booked on the Oasis for 2016. Cannot wait!!

We had planned to go to Hawaii for our 20th anniversary. Ha! We ended up living apart that year due to work and did not even see each other on our 20th.

Still have not made it to Hawaii. My first choice would be England/Ireland/Scotland. Second choice- continental Europe - I could not just stay in one country since they are so close together. Third- Australia.

Fiji - went to French Polynesia (Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora) for our honeymoon so I want to go somewhere exotic that we haven't been to.

I want to see the Northern Lights, so Iceland.

When we used to live in WA state, we sometimes could see the northern lights there. You can view them in many places closer than Iceland. Some good info here:

I have been fortunate enough to visit many places I wanted to see, but still would like to go to see the pandas in Chengdu, China, visit Australia, Antarctica, the Galapagos, and do an African safari.

You can also see the northern lights in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. They are amazing to see.

Maui for us, since we were married there! :goodvibes But really, I'd do somewhere in Polynesia in general without that tie to that specific Island. Fiji, Papeete, Galapagos, Easter Island... anywhere in there would be great & relaxing! :beach: We have every other vacation ever to pick somewhere that is go go go go go after all! :)

Little Palm Island, nothing even comes close as a second. And surprise, it's in Florida!

I'm gonna cheat a bit. If I could go anywhere, I would go everywhere.

I'm kind of planning a year-long, round-the-world trip for 2024-25. Not kidding, just crazy. Let's see if I can save up enough money in the next 10 years. :thumbsup2

These are all on the bucket list, I would love to do anyone of them for a big anniversary.

The Maldives, Hawaii, Fuji, Australia. Or one of the all inclusive beach/cruise type vacations.

Something short and cheap in the US small romantic little cities...Charleston, SC or The Outer Banks, NC or maybe Savannah. Just the two of you and a beach.

Other than Disney, where would you vacation for a milestone anniversary?????

If money is no object, I suggest a Meditarrean cruise of Italy and Greece. I did one for my 40th birthday and it was magnificent!

If money is an object, then a cruise to Canada along the Eastern seaboard. I want to do that eventually, probably during Fall foliage seasonl.

We stayed many years ago at Ramon's Village on Ambergis Caye in Belize. It was razed by fire in Aug., but looks like it has been rebuilt. Fabulous place!
My top picks are Hawaii, anywhere in Europe, esp. Italy, St. John, USVI, but Belize was really nice also.

Other than Disney, where would you vacation for a milestone anniversary?????

Hawaii or Japan (and no, not the Disney properties)

Those are the two we would like to visit. Working on saving towards one of them now.

A budget or timeframe would be helpful.

DH & I (kids too actually) love cruising. It can be very relaxing and you can be pampered to the extreme. If we had the money, we would select a cruise on Norwegian in a Haven Suite. We are cruising this summer to Bermuda but in a balcony and inside (for the kids). It honestly makes no difference to me where the cruise goes; to me, it is about the ship, the relaxation, and the pampering.

As long as you are alone with your beloved, anywhere is romantic!

Happy Anniversary! :lovestruc
