If You Could Go Anywhere.....

Kinda depends . . . are you adventurous and want to explore or do you just want to relax? Either can be romantic.

If you choose adventure - cruise to the Galapagos Islands. If it's relaxation - fly to Bora Bora.

I'm sorry, but don't knock Disney for romance. We were married in Disney and spent the first few nights of our honeymoon there and it was plenty romantic :lovestruc

For our 15th we are doing a cruise with stops in Grand Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Domican Republic, and Curaco. Next year we are doing an Alaska Cruise and a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel. When the kids turn 16 they get to pick a place for vacation and oldest DS picked the Jamaica cruise.

Southern Carib. is our favorite. We have been to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Barbados, and St. Marteen/Martin. Our goal is to hit every island in the Southern Carib. :beach:

We enjoy cruising as it gives us a chance to see a lot of different places in a short time and then we can decide where we would like to go back and spend more time.

We have also done a Canadian cruise, and visited Charleson, SC.

DH does not like WDW so those trips are just mommy and kid trips.

I'd like that one too. I've done a cruise that stopped in Grand Turk and LOVED it...my fave stop so far. We also did the Canada cruise. DH wants to do the cruise with a stop in Curacao due to it being such a baseball mecca. Our 20th is in 2 years, so maybe we can start planning :thumbsup2.

Has anyone been to Belize????? Your thoughts, please.

I started planning a trip to Ireland, Bed & Breakfast, castles, and sight seeing, but after talking to many people, they kinda talked me out of it.

They all said, that no matter what month you pick to go, it will be cold and raining.

Not my kind of anniversary, maybe I'm just so darn sick of this winter and all that snow, that I want sun.

So has anyone be to Belize?????

I would love to go to Bora Bora, but it's would be such a long flight for us. We are on the east coast.

Your 15th Anniversary cruise (the Curacao one) is Carnival, right? Which ship are you doing (looks like Liberty, Breeze, Sunshine and Freedom do it with Breeze and Freedom having 4 stops instead of the 3 the other 2 ships have...we haven't been on any of those ships)? We've done 8 cruises...7 Carnival and 1 Disney. I am wanting to try RCCL but we still love Carnival and I like this Curacao itin (and flying to port in FL isn't bad).

Yep it is on the Carnival Freedom. We cruised on the Breeze last year and loved that ship. That one went to Grand Turk, St. Thomas, Tortolla, and San Juan. We have cruised on 6 carnival ships and 1 RCCL. We will be doing NCL to Alaska and RCCL Allure/Oasis next year.

DH just told me, tonight, that he wants to do the Oasis. He watched a show about it today while I was out running errands. He likes that Freedom cruise too. Just can't figure out a week to go. If we take the kids, my DDs can only do Thanksgiving or Xmas week and then a couple weeks in August (due to travel softball schedule) and the holiday weeks are crazy expensive and August is hot and hurricane season. If we leave the kids, then we'd have to stick the grands with all the schlepping of the kids as well as getting up early for school and making sure they do their HW...etc. There's not really a 'good week' or a less busy week for that. Maybe we should put it off for our 20th in 2016 when the kids will be able to be on their own.

DH wants Alaskan cruise. I either want Alaskan,European or Hawaii cruise.

The PP who mentioned Scotland Castles sounds great as well.

I see that you went to Belize. Could you tell me more about it? Where you stayed? What time of year you went? What you recommend seeing while you are there?

Thanks!

I would never go to Disney for an anniversary. Love Disney, but not my idea of a romantic vacation. I'd either go to St John or Hawaii. Or somewhere in Europe if I could go for long enough to make it worth the flight.

LOL funny you say that because we are going to Disney for our honeymoon! Enjoying our favourite rides, characters, shows, snacks, and just hearing ht music and enjoying our time together is pretty romantic :)

I love the idea of Europe as well, but like you, couldn't do Hawaii unless there was enough time off to make the 2 day flight worth it!

For me, the ideal milestone anniversary trip would be a top notch all inclusive in Jamaica, like Sandals, in one of the $1000/night Millionaire suites with the private swimming pool and butler..only because a major event like a milestone anniversary is the only way I could ever justify the cost! haha

Disneyworld was our honeymoon;) it was great:cool1: for our upcoming 25th we are heading to Puerto Rico:cool1:..... why PR? Neither of us has been to the Carribean at all:thumbsup2 and since we are on a budget, PR seemed like a good spot to try it out! I can't WAIT!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: My big plans for our trip are palm trees, beach, beach chair, rum drinks.:rotfl2:

FWIW, when we were deciding on a place to visit, DH wanted to go to Alaska, I wanted to go somewhere warm...guess I won that one!:rotfl: He also doesn't want to cruise...... so there is that, whatever we do would be without a cruise ship involved...:rotfl:

I preferred Roatan (Honduras) for a "sit on the beach" vacation, even though there's practically nothing to do there. Parts of Belize are beautiful (rain forest, caves), but I don't scuba, barely snorkel, and have done all the Mayan tourist stuff in Mexico (and really enjoyed it). Honestly it's probably just me, because I know people who go every year (they scuba) and love it. Check out TripAdvisor and http://www.budgettravel.com/blog/belize-answers-to-your-vacation-faqs,11083/. You'll get a lot of information there.

The Oasis is fantastic! I really cannot recommend Oasis highly enough. We went last year and are planning to go again next year!

I want to see the Northern Lights, so Iceland.

YES!! This is what I want to do. I was trying to sell my daughter on going to Iceland for her 16th birthday and see the northern lights. I want to see them so bad.

Unfortunately for me she would rather go to London. Since she has always known that it was her trip, we are going to go where she wants. A mother can dream right?
