If you could design a DVC resort....

I know you said theme but I really need a DVC in the Caribbean! I wouldn't care what the theme was but I do like the castle idea.

Lorelai71,
I couldn't help but notice you are going to be at BWV the same time this summer! We will be there from July 29-Aug.9, AKV Aug. 14-16, and VB 16-18. I can't wait!

Speaking as a UK DVCer, please please please, a DVC resort in Disneyland Paris. I would seriously add on at that one!!!!!!

The pirate theme seems fun. And I love anything Caribbean or Polynesian.

Another possiblity would be something European. Maybe different sections could represent different countries like Germany, Italy, France, etc. The restaurant possbilites could be unlimited. And maybe a waterslide like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

I like the idea of DVC properties at the overseas (ie Paris, Tokyo, and China) locations. Currently, it's awfully expensive to go to any of those locations pointswise.

Regardless of the theme, it would be nice if it were built as a true Disney “Deluxe” Villa Resort

Elaborately Themed Grand Lobby (like the Disney Deluxe Hotels)
Character Dining Restaurant
Signature Dining Restaurant
Table Service Dining Restaurant
Food Court
Coffee & Wine Bar Lounge
Poolside Counter Service (serving hot dogs, hamburgers, cold salads, sandwiches, ice cream, beer, soda, etc) with outdoor shaded tables
Room Service with access to all onsite restaurant menus
BBQs Grill/Pavilion
Arcade Room
Community Center
Bike & Boat rentals
Fitness Center with various classes (love the large fitness centers on the Royal Caribbean Voyager class ships)
Elaborately Themed Zero Entry Pools with Awesome Slides
Elaborately Themed Children pool
Elaborately Themed Children Playground Areas
Full Bell Service
Daily full service housekeeping built into the daily point requirement
Real balcony chairs (like the Disney Deluxe Hotels)
Improved air conditioning that allows you to maintain a comfort temperature while sleeping
Studios options of either Queen/sofa bed or two Queen beds
Studios with double sinks
Studios with real dishes & silverware (no paper plates and plastic utensils)
Dining Room Table that matches the maximum guest occupancy for two or three bedrooms.
Living Room seating that matches the maximum guest occupancy for two or three bedrooms.
Two Luggage Racks per bedroom
Deep soaking tubs (instead of Jacuzzi with jets / filters)
More towel racks & hooks in the Master bathroom
Hand held Shower with long hose and adjustable wall mount.
X Large in room safe to store multiple bulky items such as laptop, cameras, video cameras, etc
Concierge Club Level rooms

I love the Pirates and Princess theme idea! That would be lots of fun. I also love the Colonial American theme idea. Both of those would be really cool!

Why not combine the idea of the Pirates/Princess theme with European feel. Have the main building designed like a European palace with the outlying buildings themed after older, elegant estates found across Europe. Have the main dinning room themed after, say, a banquet hall at Versailles.
Also, I love the idea of having a ball - what girl (young or old) wouldn't love to go to a ball at the palaceprincess: . On the other hand, my husband thought the idea of jousts was great - maybe then the men would come to the ball if they got to see a joust first.:lmao:
Can't wait to see what other ideas everyone can come up with.

Perhaps we could arrange to get together. I can't wait either. I get so excited just thinking about August:rotfl2:

Getting back on topic, sort of...

I just saw some wonderful pictures of Sydney Australia, complete with Koala bears. How 'bout an Aussie theme, mates? It could be near AK.

I really, really, want to see a Davey Crockett themed resort in the mountains of Tennessee. It would be so cool!

Also, instead of the 1950s America suggested earlier, what if we had a Main Street USA (1890s) themed resort. There could be BIG victorian houses that would be just off the town square. The BIG houses would be separate units like Old Key West and then the town square would have restaurants and stores and other cool stuff, and would include a gazebo in the middle of town where bands would play. (Oh dear, I think I accidentally described SSR - but wouldn't it really be great if it were really, really like Main Street?)

I was just thinking that!

And yes, ITA it would be great if they'd make it more "Main Street"ish - especially the whole band concerts in the gazebo thing!

Mine's a duo:

Pirates, treasures, ships, definitely princesses and a castle. One side of the resort would be all pirate themed, rooms, restaurants, lobby, pool, marina. Two ships at the pool, one on each side, like in the whirlpool theme in the last movie. Kids could fire water canons at each other over the pool and swing from ropes dropping them into the water.
The bar......lots of RUM drinks, barrels, shooting games, sort of like Tortuga. Hats and scarves, eye patches available for wear. At check in each child would receive same, girls too of course, if they so choose, with a piece of eight for everyone. The rooms would vary depending on size. Definitely a complete captains quarters in the suites, maybe a huge organ in the lounge....I could go on and on....

The other would be all princess/prince themes, the resort would be a castle with tapestries, mosaics and stain glass windows, with red carpets and fairy dust on the wall murals and the rooms would have the wonder of the Cinderella's castle apartment in each so that everyone staying there could feel like they had the opportunity to live that dream.

Of course every cast member would be in prince clothing for the men and princess dresses for the ladies. Magic wands would be handed out to the children, and there would be magic in everyone of them.....The pool - a moat, with bridges and gondola's (sp?), swans too. The grounds - rose garden's, topiaries. Maybe I'm getting alittle carried away, but with Disney nothing is impossible.....I like dreaming.

It can't come soon enough for me! Do you have kids? I'm assuming you do! If so, what ages?

:rolleyes1 Nope, I don't have any kids. What's funny, is that I vacation with my mom and brother. All adults, no kids. Sometimes I feel a little sad that there aren't any little ones around but then I perk up and just enjoy my freedom.

I should probably be going on a single cruise so I can find myself a husband and get some kids before I am too old to have babies. LOL

Sorry, no little ones but I am a teacher so I am used to being around the "young and spirited".

How about an old favorites theme? Like...areas dedicated to our favorite attractions that are gone! A World of Motion restaurant, Mister Toads Villas!!

Also...accomodations that fit a family of five for fewer points than normal..!

I would like to see the Studios enlarged enough to include a two burner cooktop in the kitchen and a washer/dryer. This would make the studios seem more like a studio apartment/ "home away from home" than a hotel room. I also agree that they should include regular dishes/silverware/glassware. And I like the idea of a choice between 2 beds and 1 bed and a sleeper sofa. It would be great if some of the lockoffs had the two bed option.

First, I think BCV and BWV are so great because they are close to parks. I would like to see the hotel either next to or partially in the parks. The big advantages are you could get to the parks early, use park restaurants and think of the views)

- One near one of the waterparks (use that for the pool).
- One half in the Magic Kingdom (Just a few steps and you are at Splah Mountain)
...

I would like to see a haunted Hotel or Villian theme:scared1:
