If you could choose one DLR restaurant, what would it be???

I can't pick just one.

Character meal: Goofy's Dinner
Breakfast: Carnation Cafe
Lunch/Dinner: Cafe Orleans
Date night: Napa Rose/Steakhouse 55

DW and I have always seen Carnation Cafe....but have yet it. Is it more like a Soup, Sandwich and Salad type of place?

We're planning on going during Easter weekend.....so we'll probably try it out ( finally ) during lunchtime. Can we make reservations before hand via the Disney Operator?

I'm pleasantly surprised how many people are picking Cafe Orleans! That is my favorite pick as well. I love the Monte Cristo, it is one of my favorite dishes served in any restaurant whether at Disney or not. I have not tried Carnation Cafe but that is on my list of to do things for our May trip.

You know, I have loved Bengal BBQ (I know its QS, but still cant get enough) since forever. Going to DL in 22 days and cant wait for the F&W Fest, and DW 25 days later with a ton of ADRs.

Yes! The Loaded Baked Potato soup is incredible! :lovestruc I get a bowl of it for 5.49 (it comes with a roll as well). Best value in the park IMO!

Yes, you can make reservations via the Disney Dining line 60 days in advance. Oscar, the chef there, has been there for 54 years and sometimes he is out walking around visiting with the diners, such a nice man! :goodvibes

Steakhouse 55, definitely. However, DW and are trying Napa Rose in a couple of weeks for our anniversary, so who knows :confused3, maybe I'll change my vote afterward. ;)

Carnation Cafe. We at there so many times on our last trip. I was somewhat addicted to the loaded potato soup, Oh yum, I would love a bowl now.

Blue Bayou for the food (YUM!) and the Pirate atmosphere! pirate:

It would have to depend on *why* it was my one meal there. If it was a special occasion, my Birthday, Anniversary, I would pick Napa Rose, in fact I did pick that for my birthday!:thumbsup2

Otherwise if we were just going I would have a late lunch at Cafe Orleans and get the Monte Cristo, and either the pomme frites or the Onion Soup, I can't get both or we don't have any room for the Mickey Beignets!

Carnation Cafe. We had the loaded baked potato soup there yesterday. Dh and I both agree it was the best soup ever. I had the cup of soup and half a turkey sandwich for $9.99. A great deal. Dh upgraded his to a bowl of soup for $2 more. The kids meals were $6.99, I think.

This is great info! I was wondering about Cafe Orleans. We'll try it for sure.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned Cafe Orleans for Breakfast, but they no longer serve Breakfast. Carnation Cafe is the only Table Service restaurant that serves breakfast, and they have my favorite - the Croissant Benedict.

Also, no one mentioned my favorite place to eat, the Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, which is all you can eat and has live entertainment.

Just to clarify so there is no confusion - Carnation Cafe is the only table service/non-character meal place in DL that serves breakfast. You can get breakfast, of course, at any of the character meals at all 3 hotels and in the 2 parks, and also Steakhouse 55 in the DLH serves breakfast, as does Rainforest Cafe, LaBrea Bakery, and other places in DTD, etc.
