If you could bring back one attraction for Disneyland's 50th Birthday...

what would it be and why?

I would bring back Adventure Through Inner Space. I would not ride that attraction once my Grandpa told me that we shrink to a miniscule size. I must have seen Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory because I did not want to be Mike TV!!! It took a couple visits to persuade me that it was an illusion. When I was a teenager it was a favorite make-out ride.

How about you?

The People Mover. I miss that one so much. It makes me sad to see the empty track all over Tommorowland.

Mine would be the Skyway. I used to love to go on that in the late afternoon/early evening and watch everyone down below ... then go through the Matterhorn -- sheer magic :)

I remember Adventure Through Inner Space. I was convinced that we became smaller & went through the microscope. I used to watch the people get on & try to see them as they went through the microscope. (ahhhh, the innocence of youth) ;)

Also miss the Peoplemover - I used to love that ride, especially when I wanted to just sit down & relax.

I too vote for the Skyway! I miss that so much.
And the People Mover (I LOVED going on it at WDW last year!)

I loved the People Mover! It would take you through the Inner Space ride, some 'tron' movie projection room, and (is my memory screwy?) a miniature city... like London? Anyway, I do miss it.

My brothers were once 'removed' from Disneyland for taking mustard and ketchup packets and squeezing them onto unsuspecting guests below from the Skyway... were my folks furious!

:moped:

Submarines! That was the main thing I remembered from when I was a kid, and I always loved to revisit them. DH was really bummed when they took them out. I am glad they are bringing them back, I think in 2007 with a Finding Nemo theme, but it won't be the same. :sad2: I know they were outdated (like the rest of Tomorrowland), and I hope they do a good job with the new ones.

I agree with you Tink, gotta bring back Innerspace. I loved that ride! I love Star Tours too, but isn't there a way to make them co-exist?

Just one?? Thats tough.

I guess I would have to say America Sings. And then if you would grant me one more wish it would be Country Bears.

You can see several of the Country Bear Jamboree animatronic characters throughout the park. If you take the Disneyland railroad around the park they have displays of them, too. My favorite is the dog who used to say, 'Who shot my paw?' lol

I haven't been to DL in a long time, but I have really fond memories of The People Mover and The Skyway...either of those would be splendid. I hope to make a trip in early 2006 to the parks :)

You mean we REALLY didn't shrink? Boy, do I feel small.
Next thing, you'll be telling me the animals on the Jungle Cruise aren't real.....
Oh wait. ;)

Oh, they're real. But they're DRIVING the boat. :teeth:

Hey, lets bring back the indian villiage, stagecoach and mules. :p

America Sings! In the 1970s, at the end of the "I Wish I Were Single Again" song, my mom would always yell out "Hallelujiah!" or some such exclamation and everyone in the theater would laugh, much to my embarrassment.

I also liked the submarines. I remember the spiel about some scary sea serpent getting the sub, and you see his long arms out the porthole, and when you finally see the serpent's head, he's got this dopey look on his face, not scary at all! My mom said that sometimes in the old days mermaids would be on the rocks in the lagoon, but I never saw them.

In June, I'm going back to Disneyland for the first time since 1987 and I can't wait.

Another vote for the People Mover! That used to be my favorite thing to do when I was tired of walking and standing in lines.

Okay, this is going to reveal how old I am but I'd like to see the flying saucers back! I know, they broke down a lot but as a kid, I really wanted to ride this ride. I think I got to ride it only once.

People Mover
Adventures Thru Innerspace

Those are the two I miss the mostest, but I do miss the Motorboat Cruise too. I'd loved "driving the boats" and I know my 6 year old would just LOVE it too.

People Mover. Miss it A LOT.
Skyway comes in a close second.

Having been to Disneyland for the first time ever just a few months ago I can't really answer this one, except that as a kid, when I saw it on TV, the one ride I really wanted to go on was the sub, so I was disappointed that was not there any more.

I also found the remains of the people mover very weird - I thought at first it was some unused extension of Autopia and that might be the answer of what to do with it - extend Autopia, which would make it a lot more interesting.
