What did you ask the rep on the phone?: I called a minute ago & asked if there was a pin associated with our email & the guy acted as though I was a lunatic:crazy: He said the codes are sent out by a third party company via email or mail & they have no access to them. I tried to explain but the more I did so the more he was adament that there is no way they can check. So what exactly should I ask when I try to call back????

I just got off the phone with CRO, checking to see if there was a PIN associated with my name or my sister's (no such luck), and when I called I explained that I had heard some discount PIN codes were being received by e-mail and postcards by some people. I asked if there were any discount PIN codes under my name or my sister's. The CM knew EXACTLY what I was talking about, and even knew what the DIS boards are! I could hear the clicking noise from her typing on a keyboard, and when she couldn't find anything under my name she went on to ask about my sister's name and address, so she absolutely did check.

Call back. The first CM that answered your call was full of baloney when he said there was no way to check.

I called also. The CM was almost laughing at me when I asked if there happen to be any pin codes associated with my name. She said, no, ha ha.

Oh well.

The CM I had was happy to check, but the only pin I had was for Jan/Feb which doesn't help our October trip.

I say try back too! You just never know. At least if you don't, a nice CM will tell you :)

i called actually 2x. the first time i explained that since I had moved that I had heard that a new round of postcards had went out and since I had moved I wasnt sure If I would get it. The guy was really nice and reminded me that they could come email and I told him that last year they told me I had had a code that had expired that I had never received email or postcard for, so now I just call and ask when/if I hear of one that sounds like something I can use. He understood and checked everything. Geeze he rattled off so much info about me I asked him if he had my height and eye color in there somewhere. He told me I had a code for Jan/Feb but not the one that has been posted about. He updated my info. He had said something like "that's good you'll get a confirmation". I wasnt sure but I watched my email today to no avail and so I called while making dinner. And explained what had happened and the lady knew what I was talking about. Verified all my info then asked if I was calling to make a new res. I said no I was calling to make sure my email was right.....she got kind of huffy at that point. Oh well she verified my email that I'm not sure if it was wrong or she mispoke but it is correct now.

i called and my CM was AWESOME! i asked about pin codes for both me and my mom's names, but she said neither of us had a pin code. however, i asked her to still give me a quote for my trip dates, and she said she would "see what she could do for me", and ended up finding me a code anyways that i could use in March! I'm so excited!

OK, Ill just keep trying until I can get someone that will look! Still kind of pissed b/c the guy was such a jerk & tried to make me feel like a dummy.

I just asked a CM when I called the other day. The CM said she would look and unfortunately no pin was attached to my name. Most CM's know what I am asking when I ask about the "pins". HTH

I saw in a previous post that they were registered with Disney Destinations and they think that is how they got the discount code. I'm registered with everything I could find on Disneyworld.com. Is this something different?

I'm going to try and call again now. I guess you never know. I'll post back . . . .

They are going to get sick of all of us calling.

:)

LOL - the automated message said the call volume is high and the wait time will be longer then usual (can't remember exactly what they said). It must be everyone from this board calling for Pins. :lmao:

I'll try again tomorrow (one more time) but after that I'm going to give up for now.

Good luck
Jen

Can you ask for certain CM's or do you just get stuck with whoever? With my luck I will get a crappy one too, who won't check or anything.
One wqustion I have is,I have never gone to Disney, by booking thorugh Disney before. I have gone and stayed off sight and bought my tickets from somewhere else as well. Will they even have my name for a PIN? I am on the email list though.

How late are they open? What time do they take calls in the morning? Or is it a 24 hour thing?

ggrrrr, I just called back & asked about pin codes associated with my account & was told the Magic Your Way package was already applied to my account. So instead of looking for a seperate pin she just looked at that discount. I told her I was wondering if there are any better discounts available & she she said that there are some for the value resorts. So I don't think she checked to see if there were any pin codes.

Yes, checking can be difficult because most CMs don't want to be botherd -- sort of like, we have your money now go away! I called a couple of times yesterday to check and never could get a CM to look. One CM said, you have an AP rate already, it won't be any lower than that, but I said yes, some folks are getting the same resort for $49 a night and I have $59 a night and am an AP holder (long time since 1995). She couldn't be bothered, and she was the best of the two I got. It's pretty frustrating.

I think at one time or the other, we have all had this happen. I think that the one thing that could be better with Disney is there reservation customer service. One time you will get a really nice CM and then the next you get one who is just the pits.

I did have a code for travel from now until Feb 14th. We have reservations for Feb 28 - March 4th so I can't use it. I got someone really nice on the phone. I called and just asked - would you mind checking to see if I have any codes. He was happy to do it. We really can't change the dates.

So, it is worth calling and calling until you get someone who will check.

Jen

I called, unfortunately ours is only for Feb./Mar. but check ALL of your old email addresses as well, even if you have to call back multiple times.
