who did you use?
and what was your experience with the company???
I found the perfect dress at a FRACTION of the cost...but afraid to actually even consider buying it b/c I'm not sure how comfortable I am buying something that important online.

TIA :goodvibes

Is it through an online store or Ebay? Is there a return policy? Can you find it in a bridal store near you and try it on first? I'm learning that wedding dress sizes are so weird. I've also found that several dresses look great in pictures and on racks but when I try them on, I find out that it's just not "me."

As long as there is a return policy, I would go for it. I would also try to find out if you can try on the same (or similar) dress in a store. Good luck! :goodvibes

Make sure to pay with your credit card and read the return policy carefully. If you pay with your credit card then you may have some dispute rights.

I got mine online.

The first one went back with a restocking fee. It was one of the knock offs that are proliferating on ebay - the sizing was very weird, the corset had no boning, and there was pink all over the beading that wasn't even mentioned. I hadn't even bought it because it was cheap - the dress I had chosen only retails for about 350 - I bought it because no one could get it to me on time.

The second time, I bought the actual designer. I have a $1200 Maggie Sottero dress that was discontinued - for $350. I love it, and I'm thrilled.

If you're going to buy online, find a style or designer you like and try to find that - or just browse the ebay bridal listings for a while. Be wary of the knock offs.

A lot of brides buy their dresses on line. In the book Bridal Bargains they talk about some of the more reputable ones. I was planning on buying mine on line but I found it at a sample sale for the same price as online. Good luck! Research the comany very well. Also check out the BBB.

I didn't buy my dress online, but I seriously considered it.

I'd suggest that you go to the manufacturer's website and look for authorized retailers to find a list of stores and see if those stores have online sales as well. This is because I personally was afraid of buying a dress online and having it be a knock off.

The two websites that seemed the most reputable that I encountered were http://www.bestbridalprices.com and http://www.jaysbridal.com

Good luck!

I figured out why the one I found was so cheap...it was over seas...not sure where...so I am sure that my american $150 is something different... :sad2:
I'm looking other places...but we will see...

I would suggest going to a bunch of bridal stores and trying things on. Then, when you find the dress you like you can find it online. I know Caryn and Carrie (lurky loo) both got their dresses on ebay. My best friend used RKBridal. RK will beat any internet price by 10%. She was super pleased with their service. I would be wary of houseofbrides.com. For my friend's wedding, one of her BMs ordered a dress in Dec (wedding was in April) she called and called and called only to be told that it was on it's way. Then, 3 weeks before the wedding she found out that the order had never been placed. She ended up buying a sample dress off the rack at a local store (she was lucky to be an almost perfect fit) and had it shortened a week before the wedding. Her dress from house of brides arrived while she was at the wedding rehearsal. She had already disputed it on her credit card but still, it was stress that neither she, nor the bride, needed.

the first wedding dress I bought was off of ebay. I wasn't sure what to expect so I checked it out. I got a maggie sottero dress but only after receiving did I find out that it was a replica instead of the real thing. I mean the dress was fine just wasn't made from the same material. Just a heads up. I ended up buying another dress

Thanks for the tip...I'm not sure what I'm going to do...I'll figure it out...eventually...:rotfl:

Bestla (Rachel) has ordered multiple dresses on line and just sends them back if she doesn't like them.
