This was on our local news tonight and I didn't see anyone here mention it yet. StarKist is settling a class action lawsuit and anyone who bought certain varieties of tuna is eligible. It is super easy and there is no need to produce a receipt or proof of purchase. My kids love tuna and we buy cans by the dozen so I know we are eligible.

They are offering either $25 cash or $50 in Starkist product vouchers and all you have to provide is basic demographic information and check a box that says you swear you bought an eligible product within the specified timeframe.

HTH!

Me also - buy only starkist tuna and always have it in the kitchen.

I saw this back in August. I registered my mother and myself. IIRC, they also offered a certain amount of tuna coupons in lieu of the check. I don't need as much tuna as they offered, and neither does Mom.

Me too. I registered and told all my friends and family;we all buy Starkist, and there was no way I needed 50 tuna coupons lol

This will turn out like the diamond settlement. The attorneys get the money and we'll get $ 1.00 if lucky. I usually buy Starkist and have two cans in the pantry now.

You are wrong. You have the choice of $25.00 or $50.00 in coupons.

The payment could be lower than the $25 or $50 in coupons. In their claim notice is says this.

These claim amounts may be subject to pro rata dilution if the total amount of claims exceeds the available settlement funds.
They have $8 million in cash disbursements and $4 million in vouchers to spread out among the claimants.

I have two cans in the fridge right now. I went with the vouchers. You can never have too much tuna!

Yes, but you choose between the money or vouchers. I suspect there will be many false claims.

are these things for real? I did a couple of others that I was eligible for...haven;t heard anything at all....

I went with the $50 tuna vouchers. Thanks.

Always have a few cans of solid white on hand.

sadly true, there will likely be many people who never bought Starkist Tuna because they don't have to prove they bought the product. Which could effect the claims of the millions of us who actually bought Starkist

Two of those are the only kind we buy so I filed. I took the cash since I figured part of those vouchers would be for the packs of tuna with all that seasoning.

Back when I stayed home I ate a lot of tuna, usually starkist. Now I work and I don't want to bring a tuna sandwich for lunch (it can be smelly).

Thanks for the heads up. 95% of the time, Starkist is all we buy. We get the Market Pantry the other 5%.

I always buy starkist - but I went with the vouchers because I figure I can use it to stock up the food pantry for the needy kids at school!
