Just saw this on the Delta website. Our family definitely falls into this category as we just got back from vacation flying round trip on Delta after purchasing our tickets back in October.

I'll be keeping up on this very closely. I thought all the airlines raising their prices to keep the tax difference was a really stupid PR move.

I saw today that this was for any flights before July 23rd. Delta is starting to issue refunds. Other airlines will soon follow.

Not exactly. The refunds, as I understand it, are for travel that occured during the shutdown but were purchased before the shutdown. The shutdown I think started July 23rd, so someone can get a refund if they bought their tickets prior to July 23rd and have travelled since then.

I think the shutdown is still going on...not sure though.
