If you booked at WL-what type of room would you want?

Is it worth it to get like a woods view or courtyard view? How are the bunkbed rooms? Any pics would be great too! More interested too with some pictures of the swimming pool/slide as well. What are your chances of getting a top floor? I am not at all interested in a bottom floor room. Thanks again!

I just got back from a 7 night stay at WL! :cloud9: I booked a courtyard view, since I just couldn't bring myself to risk getting an awful woods or standard view again. I also enjoy a view with some action - I like seeing people coming and going, seeing the boats, seeing the pool, etc, so the courtyard view is what I ended up booking, even though it was pricey.

When I got my room, I wasn't disappointed - courtyard was worth every penny! This was my view from my 3rd floor courtyard view: :)

On a prior trip, I booked a standard view at WL, trying to save money. Well, I got this ground floor room directly next to the fence around the loading dock. It was awful! I could hear trucks all day, and shuffling of feet and the workmen talking just a few feet away. I felt I had no privacy with all of this so close, and I literally felt uncomfortable on my own patio. :( Here is the view from that room, looking left:

So I learned! :scared: Wilderness Lodge has some awful views and locations, and I decided that I will pay more to avoid them! I loved the courtyard view, as it was exactly what I wanted. :)

I have stayed in CY and WV rooms. The WV room was peaceful, and I had views towards the Villa section. The CY view was nice, because it overlooked the pool. I could sit on the balcony with an adult beverage, relaxing in the evening and watch DH and the boys in the pool.
I'd take either.

Could we request a higher floor ? I wonder which rooms those would be ?

We've stayed at WL with the courtyard view twice -- once with a bunk bed.

I know that some folks really like the woods view rooms and consider them a better value, but for me the courtyard view is the best. You get to look out at Bay Lake, the geyser, and the waterfall. Yes, you get the noise from children playing in the pool, but that doesn't bother us at all.

The bunk bed room was nice, because there was more floor space due to the bunk bed being much narrower than a queen bed. Plus you get a second night stand. That said, either would be fine for us in the future.

Oh, and both times, we requested upper floors, and both times we got those requests. There are no guarantees of course, but given that there are 6 floors, chances are good you won't be on the first floor! :)

We had a deluxe room that overlooked bay lake and the beach. We could see the electric water pagent from one of our two balconys the other balcony faced the woods of the villas. Just be warned the deluxe rooms are at the very end of the wings and a very long walk to the lobby or CL lounge. This was an issue because one of our GG members had recent knee surgery and we didnt have an electric chair for the hotel we only rented one at the parks.

We have stayed three times at WL, 2 Courtyards and 1 Woods. I enjoyed my room everytime. Last time we had the woods overlooking the otter pond and were able to see the Castle and the fireworks at night, a definate plus. In general, I love the WL and I am sure whatever you choose you will like...but for me I did prefer the Courtyard overall because you take a risk with Woods, you may or may not get a nice view with Woods. Have fun no matter what!!!

We had a standard room and I requested an upper floor room on the north side. We had a perfect view of the fireworks at MK every night and you could see part of Space Mountain in the daytime. Not much view if you looked below, but we thought this was just fine. Also, you could see the water and the boats coming and going. We loved the WL!

We've never stayed at WL but will be in April :woohoo:

I also asked the same question and the courtyard view was out of our price range. So then it was recommended that we get a woods view on the north side of the lodge with a view of MK. We definitely stressed that we wanted a room as high as possible. So we'll see what comes of it.

I think I would book the Courtyard View again. Woods view would be nice if you wanted something quiet, but when in WDW, I like excitement! :)

The Yellowstone Presidential Suite.

Were the deluxe rooms large enough for 4 adults and 2 kids? I know they sleep six, but i was wondering about the spaciousness of the room. Thanks! Going 12/2/09-01/04/10 with parents, DH, DS4, DS10

I would say yes. We had 4 adults and a almost 3 year old. Everyone will have to share a bed. There were 2 queens an amoire (sp), chest of drawers and tv in the bedroom with a very tiny balcony and some extra windows to brighten it up. Then in the other room the couch pulled out, it had more drawers, with a smaller tv, large balcony, small table and chairs, sink area. It will be tight but it is very doable. I have also stayed in a 1bdr villa at BW and I must say that was way bigger to give you an indication of size. But that will only sleep 4 and a child under 3. We had no problems with the deluxe room though. Short of the long hike to the lounge and lobby. :rotfl:

On our last trip we stayed at the WL and had a woodsview room. I think it was 3004. (I had seen a map of the WL with room numbers, but I couldn't find it.) We loved it!! On the nights that MNSSHP were going on, we could see the fireworks through the trees. My DH and I would sit on the balcony and drink a cup of coffee while the DS's went to sleep. It was very relaxing and was our time to make our plan of attack for the next day. I had requested a room with bunk beds, but we didn't get one. Which was fine b/c I understand they can't grant everyone's request. Actually, the non bunk bed room prob worked out better b/c my youngest DS has a tendancy to climb the walls in our hallway and doorjams. The only reason I didn't book a woods view room near the otter pond for this next trip is that my DH promised me a room at the Poly with a MK view.

I'm not a big "view" person. I would book the standard view and save the money. I do think I would request to not overlook the service area.

Having said that I've booked the standard view twice and been upgraded both times. I guess I'm just lucky.

Thanks for the info...trying to decide if we want 1 deluxe room or 1 bunk bed for me, dh, ds, ds and regular room for parents...the only thing is sharing one bathroom with 6 of us...and my dad is not very patient with kids and noise...but i like the idea of being club level

If that were my situation I would go with 2 rooms. I had my sister and sister in law with me and dh and our son 3 and it was tricky with only one bathroom. With grandparents involved no way. Just my thoughts. It would be way crowed. I would do 2 rooms or a 2 bedroom villa (in this case you would get a kitchen, washer and dryer/whirlpool tub and alot more room. However that might be pricey. Sounds like a great trip!!
