If you are thinking about choosing the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites... don't

oh dear.... what was the number of your first room with the cold shower? so I can warn my fam who is staying there next week to avoid that room....

It was 403, but 405 wasn't much better. I talked to the manager again today when we were checking out. They discovered the problem. It was something with the new mixers they had put in. The cold water was going into the hot water side also and it was causing issues with all the rooms in that line. They spent the last two days tearing them apart and are now replacing the mixers. Hopefully it won't be a problem going forward.

The Pizza Press is moving into the Plaza? I wonder how that will work once they tear it down and build the Good Hope International luxury hotel. Or maybe they aren't going forward with those plans after all.

I talked with the manager this morning. They are still working on getting permits and stuff. They are still tearing down and building new, but it will be a couple of years. The same company owned the Carousel, before Disney bought it, and they are connected with the Pizza Press.

No, it's the room. We had hot water in the sink, just not the shower. We tried different times all with the same result.

Well if worse comes to worse, for as long as the warm water in the sink stays warm, a bird bath can always be taken instead. :)

We had a similar frustration at Paradise Pier of all places ;freezing ,scalding, freezing ,scalding. .super frustrating knowing we had paid a pretty penny.
That is no fun for you though I hope your park days were more fun.

We stayed at Anaheim Plaza a few years ago. I agree that it needs to be torn down and rebuilt, or at the least it needs a total remodel. We had two connecting rooms. In mine, the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, like the doorframe was warped. In the other room, my son and was able to close the bathroom door, but he couldn't open it and got stuck inside! My sister was asleep in the room and didn't hear him knocking for help. Luckily he had his phone in his pocket and called me in the other room to come and help him. It took two of us to pull the door open. From then on we knew not to pull the doors completely shut.

If that wasn't bad enough, I found ants on my shoes the day we were packing up to leave. The shoes had been on the floor of the closet all night and I had to take them outside to beat the ants off. I told the person at the desk as we were checking out. She just said ok and didn't write it down or act like it was a problem.

They are refurbishing some of the public areas, but I don't know if they will put much effort into the rooms with it being torn down in a couple of years. They did refund me for one night and didn't charge me the resort fees.

We have stayed there 3 or 4 times over the years and the first few times were fine. But the last time was horrible. Our shower would go from scalding hot to freezing cold over and over during the shower. Thankfully it was just myself and my husband because a child could have easily been burned if they couldn't jump out of the water quick enough. It was horrible and enough for us to never go back.

My mil enjoyed her stay very much, clean room, nice patio....great location! What a bargain! Less than $100 per night!

We stayed there over 2-3 years ago and back then it was fine , nothing fancy or spectacular but fine for the $60/night tag we paid. Not w though you couldn't pay me to stay there again :(

I used to stay there quite often, about a decade ago. On various trips I had cool shower with super low flow, terrible TV signal, low wifi signal (was doing some "work-from-home" from Anaheim on that trip and it sucked) and all around just MEH hotel. My saying was that it was the cheapest hotel on Harbor and you get what you pay for.

...but then wife saw a bug.

We don't stay there any more. She is a roach-a-phobe. I'm like, 1 bug out of a dozen stays. Still no way she is going back.
