...what else do you do? We are debating saving some $$$ on our next trip and not going to the parks. If you have done this, what other things do you do (doesn't have to be free). We are thinking:

- DH wants to golf (and has before)
- Time at DTD
- Jellyrolls (maybe PI)
- Miniature golf
- Renting mouse boats or pontoon
- Canoe at FW
- Time at the pool!!!

We'll likely do the DDP, so we plan to eat, shop and explore at other resorts. (We normally do that each trip anyway.)

If you like animals, how about spending some time at AKL and viewing the different kinds on the savannas? The Lodge is awesome, and there are great lookouts around.:thumbsup2

No matter which DVC we're staying at, we go to FW and rent bikes to ride to FW and around that area. Depending on the movie of the night, we got to the singalong/campfire/movie there too.

Bob Jackson plays the piano on certain nights at Port Orleans. He is very energetic!

We like to pick a restaurant at a different resort than the one we're staying at and walk around and enjoy that "new" resort. We went to Boatrights last week and enjoyed the walk. We'll definitely go back to the restaurant and we'll definitely take a carriage ride around POR someday.

Community Hall activities.

If you are staying at one of the resorts with a Community hall, be sure to go checkout what activities they have going on.

SSR had Ceramics,
Picture Frame decorating,
Tote Bag Decorating
A Pool Party,
How to make Towel animals.
Learn to make Ice cream
Bingo at main pool.

and a lot more, all going on at different times during the week.

Plus they had a Ping Pong and Foosball table. And you could borrow equipment to play Basketball, Tennis, Shuffleboard. And they have Board Games you can borrow to play.

Lots to do without going to the parks at all. :)

We rent a car and visit every resort. We go to a movie at West Side, see La
Nouba, Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, walk alot, actually spend time at the resort, etc.
It's awesome and so relaxing. It gives us a completely different "Disney" experience. We love it. :thumbsup2

If you're renting a car take a ride to Celebration (Disney's town) and have lunch or dinner there.

Thanks for all of the ideas. We are thinking about driving down, so we will have a car to go wherever we want. I can't believe I forgot about Celebration. Thanks for the reminder. We saw an awesome gator there last time - DH still talks about it. I went once where they had a downtown street completely filled with beach sand. There were sand castle contests and everything.

Spa treatments
Surrey rides on the Boardwalk
Resort hopping and touring
Pool hooping (and Pool BAR hopping! lol)
Hidden Mickey tours/hunts (many of the resorts have little hand-outs that they will give you and you can spend hours doing this)
off-property (and on-property) shopping
A water park for a couple of hours
The Titanic Museum (off property)
Tour the new AKV model rooms

We are going down for 5 days next month and only have 2 park days planned...and that's with 3 kids! We also have non-expiring tix that are already paid for, so we are not avoiding the parks to save money. We just want a RELAXING Disney vacation for a change...and that is one of the main reasons we bought into DVC. We know that we will be back whenever we want, so there is no pressure to see it all and do it all.
