Hello, silly question as ive been going to Disney for over 10 years but never thought about it, but what happens if you accidently break something in the room. Honesty is the best policy, so i would let the Front Desk know. But do they charge you for what you broke or are they insured for stuff like that?

We are going on our first DVC trip this Febuary, and the rooms look nice, and now i have a 3 year old and got thinking, what if he breaks a plate or a lamp, or for that matter what if i do:)

If they charge, is it ridicously priced, is a plate going to cost $50 or a lamp $200?

Im not going to be paranoid on our trip, but all the sudden i thought, what if as ive never had it come up before

I don’t think you need to worry about accidents that cause minor problems like a plate, etc.

Just let them know. I’d be surprised if they charged for those things. I also can’t imagine that is t part of the budget for the resorts since a housekeeper could drop a plate just as easily as a 3 year old!

Go and enjoy!!

Disney follows the general practice followed by premier hotel chains. Accidents can happen and the guest will not be charged for damage. However, intentional acts (such as doing a a complete trashing of the room), or causing damage by disregarding stated rules (such s smelling up the room with cigarette smoke when smoking in the room is prohibited) can result in charges to you.
