He just called me and he's pretty sick. DH is down in Florida visiting his mom, 400 miles from home. She is 90 today and lives in a nursing home. He drove down yesterday with DS23. After their pizza party today, DH has felt really terrible all afternoon. He slept nearly all afternoon and woke up extremely nauseated. Some of you may remember that he has severe lung/heart disease and is on oxygen. He felt so bad he made his sister drive him to the hospital
They couldn't find much other than dehydration and exhaustion, which I can believe because it's a really long drive for him. He fatigues very easily and he probably didn't drink enough water. They just released him after 6 hrs. He's had a lot of IV fluids, Zofran, Phenergan, EKG, Chest Xray, and lots of labs. His CXR looks terrible and he's not moving much air in his lower lungs, but that's not unusual for him. His oxygen saturation is pretty good, for him. Since they really couldn't find anything wrong, they have sent him home to try to sleep it off. The ER doc told him to come back if the nausea continues or if he develops chest or abd pain.
Of course, it's 10:30pm and now I'm really worried. DH had a similar "mystery event" in early June which was never explained. He has had a CT scan of his lungs(looks like crap and is worse than before) and had a CT of his brain earlier this week. We know he has lesions on his brain caused by the same stuff in his lungs(sarcoidosis.) Haven't heard anything back on that CT. He's on a boatload of meds, including Prednisone 60mg daily and Methtrexate.
If you all could just send him some good thoughts, and prayers if you're the praying kind, I'd appreciate it.
