If we get the Candlelight package, do we have to go to the show?

We have ADRs at Le Cellier and Coral Reef, both with the Candlelight package. We only plan to see the show once (and we may actually skip it both times depending on how things are going.)

Can we skip the show if necessary? If we can't make it to the show after our meal, can we give the tickets to someone standing in line?

Thanks

Meg

Sure, you don't have to go to the show. The only thing that bothers me is that I'm sure there was someone who may have been shut out of getting a CP package seating at one of those restaurants. They are both immensly popular. I'm assuming you are planning on two different nights? If so, then after you have eaten at that particular restaurnant (the one for the show you don't want to go to), you can head out to the theater area and give someone in the standby line your passes for that particular show. Of course, you do stand a chance of getting lynched by the others in the line! Just kidding, but I'm sure someone would be very grateful for the passes.

Oh believe me, I wish we hadn't gotten a package for Le Cellier. I just wanted dinner but the only thing they had was the package. :) If it came down to it, we would cancel the Coral Reef one. I've been calling every day to try to get an ADR for Coral Reef at any other time without the package so I can let that package go. Anyway, I figured after a heavy meal like LC, we're going to want to sit for a while after that!

Thanks for the tip. I would hate for the passes to go to waste. I'll keep calling to see what I can change.

:) Why pay an inflated price for dining when you aren't really sure if you want to see the show?

We also have ressies for two nights, but only because we want those passes. :)

Wait, how is the price inflated? Dh won't like that! We are on the dining plan.

Thanks

I really can't believe that Disney allows you to use just 1 table service credit for the CP package at a restaurant like Le Cellier, but they do. For those of us who have to pay cash for it, it is $47.99 per person.

Anyway, I know you can eat with having to attend the show, and you might be able to just give your tickets away to someone after dinner. Not positive though.

As for the idea that you are keeping someone from enjoying the CP, this is on different nights, so it has nothing to do with it. What if they decided to go ahead and attend the show on both nights? Now booking two different restaurants for the same meal, that's another story.

What night are you going to be there? My DH and I are going to WDW in 10 days and have been trying to get a CP package for Saturday, Dec. 8th. Any chance you'll have tickets for that night and not want them? We'd be happy to make arrangements to take them off your hands! :)

WOW! Problem solved! I called today, which I've been doing every day for 3 weeks, and I finally got Coral Reef for the night and time I wanted! So I cancelled the Coral Reef with package.

:)

I can't believe I finally got it!

Just wondering what night you cancelled it for? We have been trying to get a coral reef CP package for 12/19. Thanks

Just wanted to throw this in for those of you without packages. We were there for the first night, Nov. 23rd. We have done packages in the past, but since this was a very last minute trip, there was no availability. So we stood in stand-by and decided that after seeing both the 5:15 & 8:15 shows, we weren't doing the packages anymore. Our seats were great both times, and it seemed that the people who were at the end of the stand-by line had even better seats that the package holders.
