Check to see if you can add the dates to your existing reservation. If not, see if the new dates are available in any discount inventory as a new, second reservation. If they aren't included in a discount, then you would have to pay rack rate.

Yes, they will charge you rack rate. (It doesn’t hurt to go to the front desk and ask.
The only way to get a discounted rate is to go to the website, see if a discount is available and try to book a one night stay in the resort and room category that you are presently in. Staying in the same room though is not guaranteed. Then go to the front desk and see if they can keep you in the same room.
We extended a day at the Poly once. We were staying club level so we went to the club level concierge and asked, and they called and were able to add the day on and even let us keep the same rate which was from the magical labor day special! I have been told, however, that them letting us keep the same rate is kind of at the discretion of the CM - the one behind the scenes that the concierge CM called, not the concierge CM herself. I would think if you were not staying club level you could go to the concierge in the lobby and ask- if they come back with a price you won’t pay just thank them and say that’s more than you were hoping for/able to pay. Can’t hurt to ask.
I extended our July vacation by a day a few weeks ago. They were able to give me the same rate the rest of my package was when I booked. Won't know till you ask!
We extended a day several years ago and they adjusted it to match the rate we paid when we booked. We went to the desk at our resort to ask. It is still spring break so you may not get lucky but you can try. Good luck!
About 8 years ago at the Caribbean there was a snowstorm where we lived and we knew our power was still off. I went to the physical front desk and asked if we could extend our stay a night at the same rate and they said they could do that for us.
