If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

Just reread your post so I could see the pictures and all I can say is WOW! I am so hungry right now! Thanks! :rotfl:

I am thoroughly enjoying your wonderful trip report. How lucky to have such a long trip and the time to explore every corner of all things Disney! We have yet to go on a cruise, but even my former TA Mom says that a Disney cruise is the way to go! Looking forward to more updates!

Your Chefs review is making me super excited we are eating there again in August.

The food looked so good. The clouds outside not so much. LOL
I think you know everyone on the ship. LOL. That is great.
That is funny that she knew who you were.
Great updates and pics.

Hi Karin! I have been away from the DIS for ages, but I am finally all caught up on your TR! :cool1:

I am so excited that you are on the ship now - and I love that you were able to reconnect with CMs you had met previously (and a new fellow Austrian!).

This is a great preview for our Fantasy cruise in August!!!

Hi!
Glad you are back :goodvibes ..... and all caught up!

It was fun to meet so many familiar faces. We really enjoyed our stay! Can't wait until the summer .... we leave here in 89 days! :woohoo:

Okay Karin, Jim could get behind the Palo dinner for sure!:thumbsup2 He loves a good cioppino!:thumbsup2 It is so nice you got to make a special friendship with Mathieu and Battina! I'm sure they appreciated all the treats as much as you appreciated them getting to know you and surprising you with German!:goodvibes

Too bad the pirate party got postponed. I guess as much as you cruise, you were okay with it. pirate:

We are looking forward to our next Palo dinners in the summer! And I am sure Jim would love his dinner there.
We were not too unhappy about the party - we never really watch it any more. I enjoyed the one on the Wonder more than this one, so no biggie for us. All we care about are the fireworks! So fun to see all the other ships "parked" around the Disney ships. :rotfl2:

Wonderful updates, Karin!! So cute that you met the server's wife before you even knew who she was! All of the food looks so incredibly great!

Thank you!
We could not believe the coincidence that we got the Magical Moments Certificate before we even know Bettina was Mathieu's wife! :lmao:

I don't think I will ever get tired of ooh and awing over all the good food you eat while on your cruises. Your meal at Remy looks quite outstanding...especially with all the pairings. :goodvibes

Ann, there is just SO much yummy food on those cruises. Every meal you have to decide what yummies to try - good that we go back to back so often, so we can have another go at any special menu. :rotfl2:

As far as Remy goes, we loved lunch and are going to do it again on both our summer cruises. But on this cruise we had two more dinners - not so much for the food, but for Mathieu's company! ;)

Oh wow Karin, I have only just read your Remy review

Everything looks delicious!

We so enjoyed our dinner there but now I want to go for brunch/lunch!

I tried the Moët & Chandon Ice Champagne at the Champagne Tasting on the Fantasy last May and fell in love with it :)

We really LOVED lunch more than dinner. Could be because we usually have our main meal at lunchtime, but none the less - it was delicious and just the right pace! :thumbsup2
When they first brought out the Ice Champagne I was kind of turned down by the ice-cubes in it - but only until my first taste. Oh boy, that was just out of this world wonderful! :cloud9:

Wow Karin! That dinner looked fantastic!! The souffle looked divine.

The adult only restaurants on board are really wonderful. Not that I do not like the main dining rooms, they are really great too, but there is so much more privacy at Palo and Remy and they are much more quiet as well. ;)
The chocolate souffle at Palo is devine! One of the best desserts I have ever tasted. :thumbsup2

Hi Karin Can't wait to hear about DLP!!!!!

Hi Rosie!
I can't believe you are already back again. :sad2: DLRP has started over at my PTR. :goodvibes

WOW Karin that has too be my most favorite update you have ever done:goodvibes. I had a good laugh thinking about us both backing out of the cabin crawl and then they still stopped by my cabin when YOU and TOM were in it :rotfl:!!!
All of the pictures of my sweet angel just warm my heart today. She will be having another difficult week on Thursday she will be going under general anesthesia for some more test . Your report really upped my spirits today THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

Yes, that was something. :rotfl2: We dropped out and they still stopped by. But at least they did not get to "come inside". :thumbsup2
How is Angelina? I hope everything went well. I am so behind on even my own trip reports and I really need to get a move on, our summer trip is only 89 days away. :scared1:

Those are great pictures of Angelina with Minnie and Chip & Dale!

She was so sweet seeing them. It was heartwarming to watch them. :goodvibes

Thanks Teri Tom got some really wonderful shots of my little angel seeing her "friends"!!!!

Michelle, as nice as some of the pics turned out, seeing it in person was the icing on the cake. :thumbsup2

Just reread your post so I could see the pictures and all I can say is WOW! I am so hungry right now! Thanks! :rotfl:

I am glad you liked the photos, something to look forward to on YOUR cruise. :goodvibes

I am very happy that you enjoy the report.
We usually stay for 4 - 6 weeks. With the airfare as high as it is, it just makes more sense to stay for a longer period of time.. ;)
And your TA Mom is perfectly right - if you want to try a cruise, Disney is the way to go! :goodvibes

Your Chefs review is making me super excited we are eating there again in August.

I think you mean Yachtsman Steakhouse. ;) I am not a huge fan of Chefs the France. :lmao:
I booked Yachtsman as well for August - can't wait to go back.

The food looked so good. The clouds outside not so much. LOL
I think you know everyone on the ship. LOL. That is great.
That is funny that she knew who you were.
Great updates and pics.

The food was awesome, the cloud was more terrifying. :lmao: Once it had caught up with us it really got dark at Remy.
We have spent a lot of time on the DREAM in the last two years, so it was easy to know so many castmembers. It will be a bit different on the Fantasy in the summer, but since we are doing a back to back again, I guess we will make some new friends. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dear Karin!! Hope you have a wonderful day, month and year!!:grouphug:

Thank you, Christine! You are the best! :goodvibes

Day 16, August 26

A little bit of shopping, a French dinner and no fireworks ……. - Part 1

At 7am we were up again and peeked out of the veranda door to see that we were already close to Nassau. We got up and took showers and by 7.30 we passed the lighthouse and the were pulling into port.

We stood out on the veranda while the captain turned the ship around and docked her pretty quickly today. We wanted to do a little shopping in Nassau today, but we were in no hurry to get off the ship, so at around 8am we made our way down to the Royal Palace for breakfast.
There were a few families in line ahead of us, but we were soon seated and a cast member was at hand to take our order for drinks. We both ordered orange juice, Tom had some coffee and I had ordered some tea. Soon someone came around with the box of teas and again I had to sort through some teas to find what I wanted.

When it came to ordering our first course was easy. Tom again got the

Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt, which he loves and I ordered my cruise staple,

the Mornin' Tug Boat, fresh blend of strawberries, bananas, almonds, raisin granola and low-fat yogurt. But that day we both wanted to order something different from the Eggs Benedict. Tom opted for the Big Breakfast and I ordered a sweet breakfast for a change.
Our cold courses were served within two minutes and we sat and happily spooned up the yummy food. Soon after we had finished, the empty dishes were removed and the server brought over our hot courses. He placed my plate with the

French Toast and Pineapple Stack, layers of French toast and grilled pineapple, topped with strawberry coulis, maple glaze and fruit salad in front of me, then put Tom’s plate in front of him. But wait, that was not what we had ordered for Tom. The server had brought out

the Buckwheat Crepe, a large buckwheat crepe filled with scrambled egg whites, spinach and silky tofu with herbed tomato relish. We pointed out the mistake to the server and he was VERY apologetic, but since he just didn’t grasp what we wanted to order he even brought over a menu, so we could point at the Big Breakfast, that Tom wanted. The Buckwheat Crepe was left on the table for us to try and off the server went. He returned two minutes later with the ……..

.............

Disney Cruise Line Breakfast Trio, French toast, Belgian waffle, and buttermilk pancakes served with cinnamon butter, syrup and whipped cream, accompanied with bacon. And when he sat it on the table we just could not help it, but burst into laughter.
The server was very sorry he had got it wrong again, but by then Tom had decided to just stick with what had been placed in front of him.
(Funny side note – when we were cruising in February of the following year, the same cast member still remembered us, commenting, that he remembered us from “breakfast last summer”.) We finished our breakfast, still bursting into laughter now and then, then handed the servers a little tip and off we went.

Our next stop was our stateroom to pick up our backpack, some cash and our IDs.
On the way there we ran into Oana, our stateroom host and told her that there was a small surprise for her on the bed again. And then it was time to head off the ship.
In no time we were signed off and walked along the pier to get to the customs house.

There are only few things we usually look for when in Nassau and that day was no different. Once we had walked through the customs house we walked over to Starbucks to pick up a beverage and get some internet. We had a little wait to order our drinks as it seemed that a lot of people had had the same idea. Once it was our turn we ordered

two Caramel Frappucchinos and paid for an hour’s internet service, then walked upstairs, found a seat and connected to the internet. We quickly checked our email, and sipped some of our far too sweet coffee. Once the hour was up we binned the rest of the coffee and went on our way shopping.

To be continued ............

Hope I'm not too late to say Happy Birthday Karin!

Hope you had a lovely day

Those Starbucks treats look lovely ....... Guess where I am heading right now! ;)

Happy Belated Birthday Karin!! I hope you had a great birthday and have an even greater year ahead!

You have provided so much entertainment with your journeys and I love being able to feel like I'm traveling along with you guys :)

I def had to chuckle when Tom got the wrong breakfast again - at least he had a little chuckle too and still enjoyed it. Would love to take a Disney cruise someday - esp to Nassau! Your pics really capture the beauty of the cruise and islands :)
