If wait list for lesser points comes through...

Just curious - if a wait list for lesser points comes through, is there any problem crediting those back to your current UY? They aren't borrowed points.

As long as it doesn't happen less than 31 days out from check in they will just go back into your current UY and then be subject to the normal restrictions - ie if bankable and you are still in your banking period then you will be able to do that. Or if they were borrowed or banked they will expire at the end of the UY they have been moved into when you booked the original reservation.
