If there were one thing you change at the Poly... what would it be?

Maybe a sink outside of the bathroom, but after that, I can' t really think of anything else.

The first thing that came to my mind, was the smell.
I can't explain it, but it was gross! Almost the smell of the bay, but worst. This was back in January 2001. We walked in the Hotel, to see if we liked it to maybe someday stay there. We were on the first floor (I think), where the gift shop was, and that's where it stunk the most. And this wasn't a construction smell (they were building the volcano pool), nor was it the smells of the fires that were burning close. Then we went back to see the dinner show and I was noticing, how 70ish is looked, where there was a sitting room. It had dark couches, and color scheme, was old.
So what was it, and better yet, does it still smell?!

I love the place, but I won't spend all that money to stay there until they establish smoking/no smoking zones outside. Every time I go there lately I hop around trying to get away from cigarettes, which I hate. I want them to make some tables near the pool and snack bar smoking and some non-, so the two groups know where to sit... I also think people smoking right around the entrance of a pool full of fast, half-naked little kids is crazy.

Captain Cooks. I would like a bigger selection. I wouldn't change anything else except adding a hot tub. Not because I want one. Just so people can stop complaining that this deluxe has no hot tub. Oh the horror!

I would change the fact that there's always a check-out date! When I'm there, I don't want to leave! ...Paradise...

My DH loves it, but I usually pass. I know, I know, there are lots of people in the pools, too, but it just doesn't seem so much like "germ soup" in those BIG pools. I must seem like a germaphobe, but I'm really not as loopy as I sound !!

I'm with you! Between that and the hundreds of unsupervised kiddies that tend to hang out in them we never use them. I like the Poly pool because there are nice strong jets that come out the side where there are seats built in. They give the same affect as a hot tub but without the heat. The last thing I want anyway is to sit in hot water after sweating my butt off in the parks all day!

I could not stay onsite without a hot tub!!!!

They are bliss!!!

With the Poly theme, it is so easy to accomodate the hot tub too! Bring it on!


Of course there are no germs at WDW

Add screens on the sliding doors so you can sleep with the door open and not worry about critters coming in.

I would love it if they "spiced up" the bedspreads. I think the room decor would be much cuter with different bedspreads. Seems to me there are lots of things they could do without being unauthentic. I love the deep greens in the bathrooms, so perhaps they could use the greens more in the rooms.

Screens for the doors...that is a good idea. I also wish that they had a food court. That was the one thing my family missed while staying at the Poly.
