Sooooo...

Jon was supposed to see 2 docs today. The pulmonologist and neurologist. But, the neurologist was out of town and they had us down with someone who didn't know Jon. So, I rescheduled that.

The pulmonologist tinkered with some of his meds, to hopefully get him back under control asthma wise.

I don't know if I shared this, but when Jon saw the pulmo back in June they heard a heart murmer (really, more of an irregular heart beat). They did an EKG and referred us to a cardiologist. The cardiologist reviewed the EKG and the doctor's notes and said that everything seemed within normal limits, and to follow up with our pediatrician. If anything else was heard, then the ped should refer to the cardiologist. But, otherwise, he should just be followed for the time being. I wasn't happy with this...and I didn't feel settled. So I made an appt. with our ped...who I trust VERY much. She did another EKG, and listened herself, and heard NOTHING. Nada. No murmer or irregular heartbeat.

Well, today, at the pulmo, they heard a very pronounced murmer. They again brought down the cardiologist. Did another EKG, and indeed, there was a more pronounced heartbeat irregularity. It's nothing that places him in immediate danger. But, we do need to see the cardiologist. The cardiologist said that the concerning thing is that this has evidently not been present since birth, it's a new development. So, we'll be heading back to Abq. ASAP for yet another appt.

I've been hoping all day long. I'm hoping it's nothing. I'm hoping it's just a "thing." I really am not prepared for more with Jon. I'm just not. We have a list of diagnosis a page long. I can't do this anymore. I just can't.

The other thing they are recommending is for him to go back to the ENT. He has chronic sinusitis. He gets sinus infections at least 6-10 times a year. They want a CT scan done. The x-ray that he had done last shows that he is missing his left nasal sinus. The ENT will tell us what we can do about this. I hope.

Just needed a little verbal vomit time. sorry this is so long.

 :goodvibes Bold is mine. Not only can you handle it but you will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How frustrating to have to reschedule. :headache: But it's better to see someone who knows Jon vs some doctor reading bits of the chart 5 minutes before the visit.

I will say a prayer for you both Friday night. You have my number if you want to chat. :grouphug:

We're here for you!! You can verbally vomit as much as you need!! I'd rather deal with verbal vomit.....no messy clean-up! (and no smell;) ):rotfl:

We'll be saying our prayers for Jon & you too! My Jon had a physical earlier this summer & his ped detected a never-heard-before murmur. He went for a EKG and an ECHO, but they said there was no damage to his heart or valves and no restrictions on his diet or meds were needed. My aunt is a cardiac nurse & she said it's probably due to his growth. Hopefully, you'll get the same "no need to worry" diagnosis. :goodvibes

 to Jon!!

I REALLY hope this is what it is!!! That would be fantastic!!!

We have to go for another EKG and ECHO when we come up for the cardio. I am trying to get him in with my cardiologist at the heart hospital here in Albuquerque. I'll know something in the next few days.

Thank you for your words!!!

And thanks to everyone else for your kind words. I always take prayers...I think they have saved us many many times. to everyone!

 Of course, anytime! Do you think it's maybe something he'll grow out of or something that will remedy itself?

Jenny, thanks for the pictures. That helps a lot. ;)

BTW that is a sweet deal...is there no way you could use the pin or would it put the Kybosh on the May'09 trip?

I don't know that I would say I am sane so much as grasping on to the straws of sanity. :crazy2: I am glad I got to speak with her last night. DH and I also had a nice little chat about the events of the other night. ;)

:goodvibes Sweet Niamh. Does she like her teacher? Were the other kids nice? How's her momma doing?

Using the PIN is not even a possibility which actually makes it a little less painful to take. If there was a way to swing it, then I'd be mad trying to figure it out. I am all stoked and quite happy with May being our next trip!!!! :woohoo:

Does that mean Michael's bringin the little woman back sumthin purty by way of an apolog:rotfl2: y

:goodvibes Sweet Niamh. Does she like her teacher? Were the other kids nice? How's her momma doing?

Her teacher wasn't there today but the care worker she was assigned to for the visit was really sweet. She was feeling a bit below par so didn't talk to the other kids much....let's say I'm just okay, it's very wierd but I keep thinking of the bigger picture ie a wee bit of freedom and being able to take a pee in the afternoon without being harassed:woohoo: (always a plus;) )

That's good that you're not having any regrets about the PIN. Just focusing on the MAY'09 EXTRAVIGANZA TRIP is going to use up all your Disney Planning Energy anyway:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Michael rarely apologizes and when he does it sounds like he's being tortured. :rolleyes1 He called and was decent so I brought it up, told him that what he said was unfair and dirty fighting and he's better than that. As far as a trinket, my guess is that I will fare better with Gabby. I think this makes him sound more naughty than he is but fighting is not his forte. He is also a grudge holder and I am totally not.

Peeing sans harassment is always a good thing! :thumbsup2 It is bittersweet when they begin school though :goodvibes How's Niamh feeling now?

Nope, no Disney regrets! pixiedust: I am using my 40th to its fullest! pirate:

Have you decided to do one of those amazing BBQ/parties at WDW?

Niamh's got a very chesty cough and at present sounds like she smokes a pipe:scared1: . She's also full of bogey's and just a delight

:woohoo: :yay: :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :cool1:

Have you decided to do one of those amazing BBQ/parties at WDW?

Och you know me I'm away with the fairies half the time. The BBQ party is dependant on me getting another job and how much that job is going to pay me. I spend my life on "Planet Janet" planning things that have very little chance of actually happening:rolleyes: . By way of an example of my insanity the following:- I found out a few days ago that the staff travel policy for former BA staff had changed and now I won't have to wait until I retire to get my staff travel back but will automatically get it from 01Apr'09 as I had over 15years service when I was made redundant:woohoo: . I have spent the last few days planning trips all over the world....did you know that I plan to take us all to Hawaii for Becci's 18th Birthday:rotfl2: (and that's only the tip of the iceberg:lmao: )

:faint: Flowers when you are wrong? :thumbsup2 You landed a good one there! I don't get flowers unless I am really sad.

:goodvibes Poor baby. Is she being fussy too?

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I love the fantasy planning!!!!! :cloud9: Hawaii? Sounds fabulous!!!! :cloud9: Have you by chance switched the dates for your current trip to early May? :flower3: With all those travel benefits you can go in May and June. ;)
