I'm a nervous wreak when my kids are gone! Hunter went to NC for 6 weeks last summer! It was hell! ooops, did I just swear? heck, I meant heck.;)

:rotfl2: Ooooooooo, I'm telling your bishop!!!! ;)

I am a wreck. :scared: I am totally trying to talk myself down but if I think about the enormity of how long she'll be gone and where she is, I feel sick. I know that's my issue and not hers and refuse to allow my neurosis to hold her back. :guilty:

I don't think he'd be suprised at all!;)

At least your dh is with her!

:hyper: Sweet! How long of a trip are you thinking? Do you want to be there on her actual bday?

The PP & P we are looking at is that Friday 5/15. princess: pirate: C'mon, ya know you wanna.................................................

Not necessarily ON the b-day. We want probably 5-7 days. Somewhere in there. But, we didn't get our plan on today. Not until tomorrow afternoon!

He's only with her today and tonight. Tomorrow he drops her at the forum for 6 nights/7 days. :scared: She's staying at the Hyatt with 149 other kids. 12 kids per faculty and 3 kids to a room (they bring in twin beds). The staff sleep on the same floor but not in the room. :faint:

:thumbsup2 Gotcha! Let us know!!!!

With you as her mom, I'm sure she's got a good head on her shoulders and will have a great time!

Do you have your spy suit and flight booked yet?;)

:rotfl2: Why do you think DH and my FIL are there? :rolleyes1 They won't spy like I would but knowing that they are close makes me feel a smidge better. :guilty: But only a smidge.

Jenna will be there Saturday to check up on her too. :worship: I  that Michael and Gab get to Baltimore with my friend. I bet if you ask Michael he would have never thought he'd be hanging out with my geeky internet friends without me! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Sure ya do because Nate Major thinks we are HUGE geeks too. Geeks or not they don't seem too upset about the great friendship we've developed!

Sorry I didn't call you back. Wendy's messed up our Frosty order so we ended up with 3 orders of chicken nuggets too. :confused3

Did you get saved today? :lmao:

That's okay. At least you had dinner covered!:rotfl: My kind of dinner!! I told Nate he should go away so I could order fast food all week & not care!:rotfl2: He said that could easily be arranged.;)

Lots of posts this weekend--I need to catch up!

Jenny: What's the latest from Gab and DH? This is such a cool experience for her--I love D.C. I hope the weather cooperates!

Jenna: Nice pics! Glad to see you had such a fun time in the Wild West!

Jen: Sorry to hear about the motha issues. That's cool about your master's program and your upcoming trips! I can't believe I'll be missing you by 2 days in December. :sad1:

Winkers: How did the baptism go?

Jo, Kirsteen and the rest: Hi! How are things?

I am massively tired and need treatment for my Diet Coke addiction. :yoda: was being majorly cute last night and so I stayed up later than I should playing with him. I'm beat now!

Have a good day, all!

Not much to report, my end. Desperately trying to claw my way back on the wagon after a weekend of excess and indulgence:scared:

So far so good, she's still with Michael. He drops her off at the forum today. :guilty: I am so worried. I know I shouldn't be but oh my, she sounded homesick already on the phone last night. I am wondering if it was smart for them to go a day early after all. :confused3 It gave her lots of quality time with DH but will make it harder to say goodbye. Seven days is a long time for anyone. :sad1:

Cherie, I am such a clod and wrapped up in my own crud that I forgot to ask.

:lovestruc But he's so adorable, how could you stop?

Tu tambien! :flower3:

I talked with Gab and M last night. They had a good night. M's aunt was spoiling Gab rotten. They ordered pizza last night and went grocery shopping for the week. I have him trained so well! ;) The only bummer is that M was under the impression that he and his father would have a car at their disposal but his aunt and uncle are wanting to drive them everywhere. :headache: So he'll be cruising DC with three 80 y/o and not that there is anything wrong with that but it's not what he was expecting. He was looking forward to a stress free vacation. I told him to handle it because there is no way he better come home not refreshed! I said to just go with it for today, call me with their addy, and I'll find a close rental car place.

 Kirsteen, excess and indulgence..........do tell. popcorn::

:scared: Eh....pizza hut, sweeties, chinese food, sweeties, carrot cake, sweeties, sausage & tatty scone sandwich, sweeties.....and then on Sunday we went to my parents for dinner to celebrate DBro's birthday. Well my mum is a fantastic cook and always makes a variety of deserts and the wine flows like water....and of course I hate to be rude and offend with a refusal:rolleyes1

Seven days is a lot of time--for both of you! You're allowed to worry! Something would be wrong with you if you didn't. :flower3: I went to DC a couple of times as a teenager and got homesick. I think that's a pretty normal reaction. After I got into all of the activities, the homesickness subsided a bit.

Would he be able to take the Metro much? I know having a car is more convenient, especially if he's staying away from DC proper, but for most of the sightseeing stops, the metro gets you pretty close.

I just got off the phone with them and she was crying last night. She misses Chloe something fierce. Chloe misses her too. The good news is that M's aunt's house is 2.5 miles from Gab's hotel! :woohoo: He says he'll take his morning run there and have breakfast with her until she tells him to scram. :thumbsup2 That makes me feel SO much better- her too.

I guess there is some shuttle thing that you can take non-stop for two days for $35 a person. It runs all day stopping at all the hot spots. My guess is they'll do that. M is worried about his dad walking a lot. He's in amazing shape but 80 none the less. :goodvibes

They just called from Mt Vernon. They had fresh croissants with jam and some pastry with imported cheese for breakfast. Heavenly! :cloud9: Apparently M's aunt likes the finer foods in life and that will make DH beyond happy. He's a food snob. :snooty:

DC update: I got a call a bit ago and they made it safely with no weather issues.
That must be a relief :goodvibes

Jo, Kirsteen and the rest: Hi! How are things?
Hi Bev, all good here I beat DH at golf today :yay: :rotfl2:

Jenny am I right in thinking that you only met Jenna through the DIS?

So he'll be cruising DC with three 80 y/o and not that there is anything wrong with that but it's not what he was expecting.
Sorry but that did make me laugh :rotfl2:

::yes:: Huge relief! :goodvibes

Hi Bev, all good here I beat DH at golf today :yay: :rotfl2:

:woohoo: That's awesome!!!!!

Jenny am I right in thinking that you only met Jenna through the DIS?

We met on Mouseplanet actually but mostly post here. MP is like 1/10 of the size. Fun board though, more hometown feeling but the park info here rocks! :thumbsup2 Jenna actually told me about the DIS when I was researching my first WDW trip.

I am hormonally challenged too and Jenna was last week. ;) :rotfl2:

The treats do sound yummy!!! :cloud9:

Kirsteen, I love brown sauce, like HP sauce?

:yay: Yay Niamh, wish her good luck! Jenna's Emma started last week and I think Jenna's taste of freedom was more than she could ask for.

DC update: M called and said the hotel is "killer". :thumbsup2 He said that there were a ton of kids bawling their eyes out. :sad2: Gab was not one of them. :goodvibes It did make her feel better though to know that was she is feeling is normal; excited and scared all in one. Tomorrow night is their ambassador dinner and the P2P staff told Michael that the food is unreal and some kids even take pics. I am thinking we may get a food trippie from Gab by default. The parents are only allowed to visit in the mornings for breakfast but he didn't ask why. Gab called when she had a minute before going to their first meeting to say she met one of her roomies, Victoria, but the other, Maddy hadn't shown up. The Hyatt told M that P2P hires private security for the kids. They have chartered busses and they are treated really well. :yay: The food is supposed to be awesome the entire trip. Tonight they get to hear one of the Coveys speak which should be inspirational.

Tomorrow they go to Capitol Hill, learn about the branches of gov't, have lunch in the District (no sack lunch either baybee), visit the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and other sites on the Hill. At some point they break out into sessions and discuss leadership etc.

And then they attend the Embassy dinner. :cheer2:

I am tired just posting about it. :faint:
