Well, they do have gondolas, on the lagoon side.

Original plans included a dark Gondola ride as well as an educational ruins walk.
Could Disney still complete it if they wanted to? Like how Germany’s ride is incomplete but Disney could finish it if they wanted to? Interesting info. Thanks. :-)

Tokyo DisneySea has a gondola ride, but their Italy section is also MUCH larger and has an entire hotel as part of it

That is very impressive.

I think it has to be a gondola ride. I mean, if the Venetian in Vegas can offer one, the Italy pavilion can as well.

If Universal didn't have the Spider-Man rights, a Far From Home motion ride would've been pretty cool.

Worst case scenario: Pay Rowan Atkinson a lot of money, create a 10 minute short called "Mr. Bean in Italy".

I hate anything that was proposed as a "walk through". It makes my skin crawl just the thought! All we want to do is enjoy stuff sitting down after all of the walking we have to do there. I'd rather have no attraction at all. That being said, this girl is NOT excited about the Moana water thingy. It feels like they're just being cheap. ....I'm going to soak my feet...this talk wore me out lol.

I think the days of rides without IP are over in Epcot and it is a shame. The country and it's people should be the stars of the show on World Showcase, not animated IP.

If I could go back to the old Epcot I'd love a simulator version of the France movie. Think Soarin' meets Impressions de France.

PINOCCHIO would be the safe bet ...

Bottom line I think the days of Disney creating new content for attractions is over. They will build on existing IPs. As far as Epcot and World Showcase, no matter how much people complained Frozen brought new interest to the pavilion and to tourism in Norway. Kids were interested in exploring in Epcot. Bring IPs to the countries so they can identify and have interest isn't a bad thing.

I'm in the "there shouldn't be rides in WS" camp. I'm old school and think the countries should be like they were meant to be, to learn about the countries. I'll admit I did enjoy the old ride in Norway and I hate Frozen being there. I remember back in the day when Epcot first opened and loved it. My son always had so much fun talking to the CMs about their countries and exploring the things from the countries, we really liked the movies and little museums. Leave the rides up front and let the countries tell their story with the CMs and architecture and food and products. We once sat on a bench in front of Italy for well over a hour just looking at the statues and looking up who they were and learning, which I guess is boring now.
