If space was no object, what changes would you make to your current home?

#1 is a large storage room on the main floor. No more hauling bins up and down a pull-down attic staircase!!

#2 - a game room that could accommodate a pool table 🎱

#3 - I have plenty of bookshelves scattered around the house, but I've always kind of wanted a proper library 📚📚

I'd make my bedroom twice as big and have a sitting area with room to set up a crafting/puzzle table along with a big puffy sofa and chair. Big screen TV mounted on the wall over a mantel. New carpeting. Queen sized bed.

Larger kitchen to put in an island, Sun Room, a full bathroom on the first floor( rather than a powder room) and a first floor library that could double as a bedroom.
With more space in the backyard an outside kitchen & fire pit area.

Expand the kitchen, move the formal dining room to be next to the kitchen, expand the mother-in-law suite, add bathrooms to each bedroom so every bedroom is an en suite and have a half-bath (or maybe full bath) for guests. Large walk-in closets for all bedrooms.

Add an extra space to the existing 2 car garage.
Walk-in pantry for kitchen.

I need 1000 more square feet at least

Renovate the kitchen, put in a 1st floor bathroom (ours are both upstairs), renovate the spare room/space in the basement to include a bathroom and kitchen, and add a 2 car attached garage with storage/workshop space.

Corner pantry, wardrobe "staging" room, larger laundry room and TONS more cabinets, drawers and closets.

I'd wave a magic wand and conjure up some closet space. That is the one major drawback of a very old home - they're just not built for modern wardrobes.
So much this. Our house was built in the 40s and we have the tiniest closets ever.

We put in a tankless water heater and I think I was most excited that we gained half a closet for a broom and my Dyson!!

Washroom in the basement. Have only a dumb little shower and actually comes in handy but dumb not to have spent the $ for a regular washroom. The money scared us away. Poor decision.

I’d revamp my kitchen. It’s dated and some things are unnecessary.

I’d have one of those hidden rooms that you don’t know exists that you open a bookcase to enter. I always thought that was so cool!

I wouldn’t want any more rooms, would just want the ones we have to be a bit larger/more storage. My house was built in the 1960’s and the closets and bathrooms are a joke. Very little kitchen storage too.
