If Rockin Roller Coaster were to change bands, who would you choose?

Actually, I was born in 1958, so 60's and 70's but there are groups I like from all decades.

I love Aerosmith, LZ, and some others on the list, but honestly if they were to update, they should stay away both from "older" rock AND the pop drivel of JB/MC. They'd need a band that fits the name ROCK 'n roller coaster, while being a little more recent than bands that were at their peak in my childhood (or before I was even born, in the case of Zeppelin!).

At the same time, going *too* new risks picking a group whose popularity doesn't endure.

So I say, pick a well-established rock band from the 90's, one whose members are all still alive and maybe the band is even still recording. I vote for someone like Pearl Jam, Green Day, or the Foo Fighters.

Love Green Day, but they're likely too political (American Idiot?). But they have produced some great riffs that would work pretty well on the coaster.

I was born in '66 so I was too young to know anything about Woodstock. Disco was gone before I was old enough to pick the radio station... High school from 80-84, collect from 84-88, First girlfriend... Well, that's far enough to say that the 80's were great for me!

Uuuuuuuuuh, Bon Jovi, U2? Yea right. They've been cranking out #1 records and albums for decades. They may have 5 good songs between them that were recorded back in the 80's and for some reason, there are people that continue to hang on to them. These 2 acts are truly a mystery to me.

Yeah that would make it difficult, as would my choice of the Clash or Queen.

But how good would it be to have Career Opportunities or White Riot blasting out from a corner of the Studios

sorry to add, but most of the poll choices are a bit lame for me, I grew up with punk rock and new wave in the UK and most '80s stuff just sucks. Maybe Springsteen, but I don't think enough of his stuff would work on the ride IYKWIM or the Stones, there's already the POTC/ Keith Richards connection

I am late to this conversation, but think this comment is in reference to scientific findings, published elsewhere and at BBC News about women's preferences for the attractiveness of men's facial features. Yes, the dude does look like a lady, but I'm sure the remark was not meant to offend.

Although I (mostly, sans offensive hand gestures) like Aerosmith just fine, at some point Tyler and friends will become perceived as geriatric enough that the ride will require updating. The new soundtrack will of necessity be something fresh and relevant to the life and times of a future generation. For that reason, probably none of the classic rock bands would make the short list.

I grew up on his music, I've seen him multiple times in concert and I think his older 80's and early 90's stuff would be really good with this ride. Avoid the newer stuff since it's not in the same vein as the ride's overall theme...... >.> Journey

This is very true. Aerosmith was still pretty popular when the ride opened but are getting a bit dated now. They would pick a newer band with some years of popularity ahead of them. While I voted KISS, I know that they would never work out since most of their songs are just phallic references and not too family oriented. Can you imagine instead of the donut, riding right under Gene's codpiece? Maybe at Universal...
