As a Webkinz Dad (my wife and kids went Webkinz NUTS when they came out. All said, we had over 60 of them - at $15-20 a piece and now they're collecting dust in the bottom of our cedar chest), I can say that the owl is really cute. My wife wants the Okapi really badly.
Fortunately, this craze has only affected DD. Between the Webkinz, LilKinz and whatever other Kinz, we have about 30 or so I think. Crazy thing is... she has every one of them online and plays with them. I should screen-shot some of her rooms! HAHA!
I'm glad to hear it worked out for you. As much as I'd like to stay at CSR (everytime I checked, even back in April, they said that there were no rooms available at CSR during our vacation), I think we'll do alright at ASMovies this time. Like I said before, the deal that I scored with my family was 7 days at CSR or 10 days at a value resort. Of course, now that I'm thinking about it, I'd prefer to stay at ASMu instead. BAH!
Wow... no rooms available. That's nutz. BUT... I'd be ecstatic with 10 days at a value if I had the choice. Too bad DW is now spoiled with a mod. She won't go back to a value now

Man, what a fiasco at check in. I am glad that they did give you the gift card. I mean that is $500 that wasn't going to be in your pocket. That isn't pocket change.
Yeah... the gift card was our sole means for discretionary spending. I mean, we would have been just fine without it... but like you said, $500 is not pocket change (to me anyway).

Yes, Yes, and no. Mostly due to the location... but also because of the view. The CM never said it... but I think room 8123 is a water view room. The other room faced a bunch of vegetation and was dark. Totally different feel.

Yes... it did. I think all the Cabanas had the queen beds by the time we got there.
Me and me 2 sisters are going in March, and I am rethinking this room sharing thing. If they are willing to shell out for Animal Kingdom Lodge, I'd rather go to a moderate and get 2 rooms, so we an all have our own bed. My sister's dd is coming too. 4 women in a room, Ug.
I agree with that thinking. The only concern I see there, though, is that there's a considerable change in atmosphere from AKL to CSR. But I would definitely want separate rooms
Anyway's, I was with a friend last February checking out resorts for the day, and she went ballistic for her dd's because she found "hard to find" webkinz. I had no idea what they were.
Crazy, isn't it? I mean, they ARE cute and all... but does one REALLY need that many of them? Sheesh.
10 years ago, when my dd's were little, these things were called Beany Babies. I have 2 boxes full of the stuffed animals.
Yep... got a few of them. But they aren't as cool now since they can't play online.
