Hi Again,

Thought I had better post a seperate thread for this save confusion.

My balance is due to be paid soon for my holiday in May.
What I want to know is, if my holiday is cancelled by my operator (Virgin) because of security reasons/War, will I get my money back?

Im going to travel whatever the circumstances, but im worried about handing over £3000 if im not going to get it back.
should I ring Virgin before paying to find out?

Thanks Debs

Debs were off in May flying with Virgin, my balance was due on 28th Feb, I paid it well over 4 weeks ago.Cant answer your question but if you find out can you let me know.

According to the Booking conditions, if Virgin cancel your holiday you will be entitled to 100% refund plus £25 if it's cancelled within 29-56 days of departure, £35 15-28 days before departure, £50 1-14 days before departure and £100 is less than 24 hours of departure.

I'm a bit worried too. I booked everything separately, and am now concerned that if the flight were cancelled what would happen about the cruise which also has to be paid for next week. I read in my insurance cert that acts of war are excluded, so unless the tour operator cancels I think we lose the lot!!!!

I have every intention of going no matter what happens, but what happens if the flights were to be stopped. I'm beginning to wish I had bought a package. I aleady paid for the car hire, and was going to buy the theme park tickets soon, but now I think it might be sensible to hold off paying anything I dont need to.

Lets all hope that we are worrying fo no reason.

The possibility of your flight being cancelled due to the resent threats is a romote possibility, if USA and UK did invade or attack Irack how would they be able to attack flights from over there, during the last gulf war no flights were cancelled due to threats and the only time flights were grounded and cancelled was the days after 9/11.As now we have more heightened security like the recent deployment of troops at major airports London, Manchester ect. Plus the added security from the stateside airports (we used to be shocked at how little security there used to be). Just don’t worry, as this is how the terrorists like it just go on holiday and relax
