I honestly would not go to Disney. $100 a day is too steep a price in my opinion.

I picked MK and AK. I love Star Tours and World Showcase but I'm not sure if those alone justify $100.

I would never go to DHS ever again

I have bought one day tickets to AK (there for a conference and had one free day)

I would probably never go back to WDW again if that ticket scenario was put into play. It is one thing to pay $100+ per person for a single day's experience. We've done that many times on vacation in different parts of the world. Heck we've paid more than that for a single meal. But we don't drive for 2 days each way or spend several hundred dollars in airfare (never mind hotel accommodations and meals) for a 1 day experience. And neither, I wager, do the majority of WDW guests. They come for multi day stays. $100 PP/day over a week or 10 days would place WDW waaaaay outside the budget of a great many families, mine included. Disney is many things, but stupid isn't one of them.

So each park would cost $100 each day?

No Disney would move to a variable pricing model where each park would have a different price depending on demand. They would charge far more than $100 per day at Christmas and far less at times with lower demand. Many of us like the multiday tickets and annual passes but the downside is that they do cause excessive crowding.

I don't think I holiday to DisneyWorld without the multiday tickets. Buying tickets in the UK as part of my package and I feel I can go as much as I like over the 14days for £275 (approx $460). Obviously if I didn't get this ticket then I would only have 5 days in the parks at $95 each and I don't feel like that is as good value.

On a week long trip, with six days three park days (a park every other day) is all I want to do. And the way Disney prices the tickets there is no material savings till the fourth day which is basically free if you choose all Disney parks. Some years too, I only go down to Orlando for two days (one day Disney and one day SeaWorld). Also, the non-expiring ticket premium you pay is really high. This used to be no cost, and I have NOT bought a multi day Disney ticket since they started charging for this, as the saving incentive just isn't there for me. This has meant that all I do on a trip basically is buy a one day Disney ticket to one of their parks. The savings incentive for a second or third day at a Disney is just not big enough for me to go for it (sway me to their parks vs. picking whatever two or three parks in the area we feel like doing too), so I tend to do a Disney day or two and a competitor park too (usually Sea World).

On my December trip, for example, I will buy a one day ticket for SeaWorld, a one day park hopper for Universal/IOA (don't usually go to that one - prefer Disney and SeaWorld, but decided since for once I have a trip low season I'll go see the new HP stuff and that requires a park hopper to see all of it / nice to see a few new things), and a one day ticket for the Magic Kingdom. As a one or two Disney day person, I do vary which I choose on a trip and have done DHS, Epcot, and AK before as my only park. Recently, though, DS has been picking the MK most often. There parks are very nice and for a once a year expenditure, I think $100 is expensive, but not out of line with what is offered.

If I were local, I may go to each of the parks for $100 once in a VERY long while. However, I am not local, so I would never travel to Florida and pay $100/day to get into a park. Just paying $100 for a day trip is very different from paying airfare, resort stay and $100/day for a ticket. I didn't vote, because I also would not travel to Florida just to do DTD and water parks.

If all the middle Florida parks had to stand on their own at the same price, I would probably visit in this priority:

Magic Kingdom
Sea World
Islands of Adventure
Busch Gardens
Universal
Animal Kingdom
Legoland
Epcot
Hollywood Studios

With more consideration a few might move up or down a little but for the most part it would be hard to get me back in Epcot or HS ahead of other choices if they had to stand on their own merits. I think Epcot has fallen way off its former glory due to neglect and I've never had a good opinion of HS. I like AK more than most people but I don't think I would visit it ahead of Busch Gardens if all things were equal.

EDIT to add: I didn't really address the price but if admission were fixed at $100/day I might very well not attend theme parks at all. Unless maybe they cut back on the attempts to fleece money from guests by other means while they are on property.

I chose no parks, but the answer isn't accurate for me- I wouldn't go to DTD or Waterparks; I would not vacation in Orlando. I'd do something else entirely.

I would not pay $100/day/person to visit any park anywhere in the world. Too many great options for far less money.

This.

We average out around $50/day with our multiday tickets. I would not even dream of paying $100/day. We'd be doing something else entirely.

I have done a 1 day hopper visiting MK & Epcot! Epcot is my favorite park so I wouldn't be able to skip it, even for a single day. And my non-Disney lovin' DH LOVES IllumiNations. Would I do that for multiple days? Probably not.

Only MK, Epcot and AK. Then 1 day each at Universal/IOA.

MK and Epcot for me. Epcot is my family's favorite park, and unlike most folks here, it's actually because of Future World, not World Showcase. It's like having an aquarium and several museums to visit in addition to the rides, which we love. However, I will concede that it is in need of an update. :flower3:

I would be really sad to give up DHS, as we love that park too, but not enough to justify spending $100 each for a day there.

Comparing the parks to a sporting event is kind of interesting, I've never thought of it like that.
It's not just sporting events. Entertainment is expensive.

In the past few years, I've paid north of $120 per seat for touring versions of Wicked and Lion King. A day of skiing at a northern MI ski "hill" with only several hundred feet of vertical will easily run you right around $100 in season for a lift ticket and equipment rental. Lily Tomlin is coming to the Ann Arbor summer festival, and tickets for that run $40-$60 for a stand-up show that won't run more than 90 minutes, tops.

In 1998, we flew to Orlando SPECIFICALLY to see AK. I wouldn't do that for any other "one" park, though we did also go to Universal & SW that trip.
