In your opinion, if it rains on a day that you are at a water park, do you leave and come back? I've scheduled two WP days during a trip on August 19-25 and am concerned about the rain. Do most people wait it out or do they actually close it down (if lightning I'm sure)?
Thanks:rolleyes:

I am of the opinion that any park is better during the rain. Less people and ussually cooler. This assumes that there is no lightning.

It rained on and off the day we were at BB in May 2002. There was no lightning, so the park remained open. It was a bit cooler than we would have liked, but we decided "Hey, we're wet anyhow... so what!" The park wasn't crowded and we had a blast.

Since you can almost count on rain everyday in the summer, which is when we go, we always make sure we're at the waterpark at opening time and by the time the rain starts we've done enough and leave for the day.

We had a great experience 6 years ago when we were there. We had just gotten to River Country in the afternoon and a major downfall started. Well alot of people were leaving, but some went under a pavilion to wait it out. We went to the pavilion. It did last awhile, but we had such a good time w/the other families under the pavilion. The Cm's brought our warm towels to us. Chip and Dale came out and intertained the kids for a long time also. Once the rain stopped they reopened the park and we pretty much had it to ourselves! That was one of the best experiences we ever had there. We never had any problem getting into a water park while we were there either, and it was in august. We would go to a park in the morning, and then hop over to a water park in the afternoon. We never did a water park for a whole day.

Same here, if its not storms and lightening, we like rain at water parks-the water feels warmer and no wait for most rides.

Thanks everyone--you're very helpful! I am assuming that if you did leave and wanted to come back you could, right? Is it hand stamp or ticket? Just curious.
