..Is it worthwhile to call WDW Dine to adv them of this for my Cali Grill ADR? Do you think they could organise something special?

It wouldn't hurt! Also, you might want to order the glass slipper. Here's some more info. on it:

It is from Cinderella's Royal Table but I'm sure you can have it delivered to any restaurant on site.

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Give them a call. My husband proposed to me at California Grill. He surprised me while I was on vacation with my family. I think you've chosen well. :thumbsup2 Congratulations to you both!! :goodvibes

Most certianly, you should call. It's always good to advise them of this...Disney is full of surprises!!!

Yes! And your post just gave me a little choked up. :sad1: *happy tears*. I cannot possibly imagine a more romantic setting for a proposal than Disney...now are you prepared for a Disney wedding?;)

I was seated beside someone who proposed at the restaurant upstairs in France.. it was incredible to be there when he got down on his knee and asked her to marry him... everyone cheered.. it was great. I often think of what a great place to get engaged, what better magic. I would definitely inform them of your plans and ask what they suggest.. maybe they do something special at this restaurant..

I would call them but I would stress that it was a surprise proposal! You don't want to check in at the podium with your GF and have them say, party of 2 celebrating an engagement..... or something like that.

Considering Disney's theme this year I would expect they could assist you...definately call I check out your options with them.:)

Definitely advise them of your plans when you make your ADR. On our last visit to CG we had a table in the Wine Room that does not have a view of the Castle. It is smaller and more intimate than the main room and has a beautiful view of the rest of WDW.

There was a table near ours that was set for a young couple who were celebrating something. There was a bottle of champagne chilling and Mickey confetti on the table before they arrived. I don't know if that was somthing CG did on their own or had been organized in advance.

If you have the opportunity to get in touch with the CG on the BIG day, it would not hurt to remind them of your plans to propose. The least they might do is give you a great table and ensure that they not give away your plans prematurely. Congratulations!! :thumbsup2

First off ... OMG!! How amazing!

I would definatly call. They *try* to take every detail into account, so yes I would think they could do alittle somethin somethin for you. How exciting ... I cant wait to hear *the story*

Congratulations! Be sure to pop back on here and tell us about the night!!!

YES YES YES!!! Yeah, congrats- Take pictures or just pop back in to tell us how it goes :yay:.

Definitely call! We joined some friends for their anniversary dinner at Victoria and Albert's and he had arranged to slip her gift into her desert.... but they forgot it... He was a bit surprised, as was the waiter when it was missing! None of the rest of us realized what was going on, but it was quickly fixed and they were comped something... It was very special even with the mix-up!

Congrats!!!

We saw someone propose at CG. They were seated right next to the window facing the castle, and had beautiful dozen roses on their table. It was really nice. Congratulations:love:

First, congratulation!!! Proposing at WDW is truly magical.

I'm in the minority here. I would say it depends on how you plan to ask the question. If you are planning to do it during desert, then yes call them.
If you are planning to ask during fireworks, I would not say anything for fear that someone may slip up.

I proposed to my wife during MNSSHP at Cinderella's coach. Actually convinced her to dress as Cinderella and I dressed as Prince Charming. When I proposed, she was caught completely off guard. People around started applauding. It wasn't until cast members came up with the bride and groom hats that people realized it wasn't a Disney show. The Fairy Godmother came up to us after the proposal and pulled us aside for pictures and to talk with us for a couple minutes.

A direct quote from the Fairy Godmother...
"If your proposal catches her by surprise, then you have done it correctly."
