Obviously it requires advanced payment. How does it work with a dining plan? I've never used one before. :confused3

You let them know you are on the dining plan. They will still take a credit card number in case of no show, but should not charge the card unless you are no show.

As that lawyer says, "One call... That's all." Call 407-WDW-DINE. They'll fix you right up. Book early that one fills up quickly. Don't despair however if you can't get a reservation often you can get one three days before your trip by calling the same number. People have to cancel by a certain date or pay for it... That discourages no shows.

I was able to do it online using my dining plan. You go through as if you're paying by credit card but on the last page there's a place to indicate that you're on the dining plan and asks you to type in your confirmation number for your resort stay/dining plan.

I would actually be very careful doing this. i did just that and they charged my card the full cost within seconds. And it took 5 business days to have it refunded... AND I had to cancel the reservation when I called to have it straightened out. They did not care that I had dining plan - they said I had to pay in full at the time of booking.

I just emailed my Disney travel agent and this was her response:

"If you have the dining plan your card isn't charged for the cost of the meal. I know when you're booking online, even if you have linked your dining plan, it still says it will charge X amount to your card. I always call to book CRT reservations for this reason. So far I've never had anyone tell me their card was charged when I booked this way. Of course, there is a cancellation policy, but as long as you show up to your reservation it won't be a problem!"

So, I am going to assume that it is best just to call to book your reservation and your card will NOT be charged. They will just hold your card in case you do not show up.

We called to book ours and we were not charged at all. The only issue I had is there were different times showing up available online than what the customer service people had. Online there was a 6:30 reservation available but they were only showing a 9:45.
