take 10 families that are homeless and set them up for life.

Pay off my Church's mortgage, so they will stop reminding us how important the weekly collection is.

Offer to take my entire town down to Disney for a weekend. I would pay to have MK closed for one day and we would have the park to ourselves, my DIS friends could join us.

Pay for a life saving medical treatment for a family who can't afford it. (I would do this more than once)

Give a TON of it to charity, because who really needs THAT much money?

oooh- I'll join in. If I win, I promise to:

split it with my best friend and we will buy 2 big pieces of land to build houses next door to each other. (the kids all want a tunnel connecting them! :rotfl: )

fold our company so my dh can stop working so hard!

donate heavily to my college, to Birthright (I volunteer there), our church and my favorite order of retired nuns.

set up several scholarships at our church school for people who really want their kid(s) in Catholic school and make 'too much' qualify for aid, yet not enough to really send their kids there without major financial issues.

set up college funds for our kids and our friends' kids

spend a great deal of time walking around town looking for kids selling things (Girl Scout, Boy Scout troops, etc.) and buy out their whole stock!! (we were hoping for just such a thing as we spent the last few weekends out there selling GS cookies!)

find families who really need help - whether it's medical treatments, cars, housing, etc - and help them anonymously

travel on every break from school the kids have. Spend at least a month every year in Disney (I told dh if we spent a month there, I might 'allow' him to have a pool day! :rotfl: - I'm the type that has laminated schedules made up for every day we're there!)

As you can see, I've been giving this quite some thought. :rolleyes1

edited to add: Really have a great time on Black Friday!

As my church is opposed to gambling, they would actually refuse any monies if they knew that they were from lottery winnings. At least they say they would refuse. I suppose if someone were to pay off the mortgage, there wouldn't be too many complaints.

After making sure my family and friends were taken care of I would love to be able to help out the local foodbanks. (supply them with enough food to get them through the holidays and winter. Get the names of families that are in dire financial need and pay for their utitlities and food for a year. Donate to the church. I alos would love to be able to head down to those areas affected by the hurricanes and help get those people back on their feet.

BUT, I would settle for just a small share share of the prize and at least be able to help family and friends out. I'm don't need the whole shebang.

I would do my own version of "extreme makeover Home edition" (although it would take longer than a week - lol and I would do it a few times - or even just home improvements or whatever.

I would set my kids up trusts and college funds (which they would not even KNOW about!)

Become a Foster Parent or adopt 10 kids!
(and hire a nanny to help :) )

Fund and organize an afterschool program in our area for Tweens!

Pay off everyone in my families mortgage

I promise to....

Take all of our friends (and some family) to WDW.
Give lots of money away to families who have had premature babies and have to travel to larger hospitals. Same with families whose children have cancer.
Set up an endowment fund for Girl Scouting so all girls would be able to be scouts whether they have the money or not.
Pay off my parent's mortgage and put my in-laws in a nice retirement home.
Pay for my cousin to divorce her jerk of a husband and set her up so she wouldn't have to go back to work to support herself and her kids.
Set up college funds for our children and all my neices and nephews.

I am sure there is lots more, but enough for now.

I'd keep it all to myself!!!

IF I win tonight
I Will

Pay off my parents Bills so they had no more worries and set them and my grandfather up in a house anywhere they wanted

Pay off the church mortage too

set up my children with college and trust funds for life

set up a college fund for all my nieces and nephews

Build a New house

donate to American cancer society and Diabites research

send a few million to Victory Junction

Go on a LONG VACATION with my family

and set up a huge DIS MEET with all my LTP and WPASADI friends and any other DISER who wanted to join us

also I would help one very special lady here at the DIS so she could stop worrying about Money and focas on her health ;)

Now to go buy my tickets :wizard:

Take my entire family (including 2nd and 3rd cousins and my exDH and his girls--since they are my DS's family) on an extended, first class vacation to Disney

Set up education funds for all the kids in my family (K-college)

Buy my son a house

Buy my Dad a place at the beach (Cocoa beach)

Buy my son a place at the beach (Ocean City)

Buy me a house

Buy me a car

Pay off son's car

Give give give to children's charities (annon. of course)

Give my family & close friends the maximum taxfree amount allowed every year for the rest of my life (in cash)

Give each of my coworkers the maximum taxfree amount I can on my last day of work--which would be within the next few weeks.

Just have the thrill of giving whenever the opportunity arose. When you hear stories on the news, or when friends or family are themselves or know someone who need help.

Send Pete a HUUUUUUGGGGEEE check to keep the DIS going.

Pay off everyone in my family's debt and set them up comfortably

Buy several acres of land and build the biggest animal shelter to ever exist so that no animal has to go homeless or be put down

Set up college trust funds for my eight siblings and my two sil's

Sponsor an orphanage

Donate tons of Transfer Factor to children's hospitals

I have a bunch of things that I would love to do. It's a very rare opportunity to have so much money that you could literally impact millions of lives. I hope someone here wins because everyone is so generous and kind:)

I would pay to build my town the new schools it needs. I'd pay for a new building to house the town offices. I'd pay for a new fire/rescue/police complex. Maybe if I do all this, they will quit raising the property taxes!

I'd buy my parents a condo in Vegas and home in the city of their choice in MA. They'd both get new cars.

I'd give my house to my best friend so she can leave her abusive DH and raise her son in peace. I'd pay the property taxes on it - hopefully they'll be fairly low since I just got the town everything they need! I'd probably pay for the utilities, too so she didn't have to work right away. I'm going to need someone to hang out with, afterall. :goodvibes

I'd buy that awesome million dollar home with the 64 acres in my town. I'd buy myself a Honda Pilot and my DH a Toyota Tacoma (we are simple people).

DH would still want to work - he's nuts. Whether he sticks with his current employer or starts his own business will be up to him.

I'd fund the foundation my good friend started for her stillborn son.

I'd start a foundation that would provide grants to infertile couples who don't have insurance that covers the procedures they need. That foundation would also provide grants for adoptions since that is also financially impossible for some couples.

There are a few animal shelters I'd like to see in better facilities.

I'd give to a few other charities that I believe in - St. Judes is one.

I'd give to the Floating Hospital in Boston because they saved my life.

I'd spend a month in WDW staying in suites. :Pinkbounc

10 percent of the check would go to church. I have not been able to tithe because of financial issues. $ to several other groups as well.
After that, college funds for all 3 kids, all 7 nieces and nephews.
Pay off all bills for us, my parents, in-laws, give substantial gifts to siblings for use at their own discretion
quit work and keep a lot of $ in reserve as I would no longer have health insurance if I quit work
set up several scholarships at the school where I work for deserving kids in the top 25%, but not the top 10% that already gets so much $.
switch kids to private school
get a personal trainer and take drum lessons.
more travel.

At work we have a group of 20 playing so we'd be lucky to get 3 million apiece.....

Anyway,

My hubby wants to take 500K and give out closing cost grants for middle/lower income families like ourselves who don't get other programs but struggle none-the-less

I would like to set up college fund for my DD and nephew.....

Pay off bills (there goes a bunch).....

Quit my job and become SAHM or at least really cut down hours and become PT SAHM....

Give at least $500K to our church who needs construction funds for a church.

Get a cook to make us healthy meals every day....

Hmmm..

I'd pay off all the debt of my friends and family (and I have a clear definition of who qualifies as "friends" and "family"!).

I'd set my brother up in the wood working business he's always wanted to start. DH could help him as a hobby.

I'd make my life long dream of a three or four week trip to WDW come true! Hey, gotta have something for me!

Oh, and something else for me! While I've never wanted a BIG house, I've always wanted a home out in the country, with my nearest neighbor about 1/2 a mile away. And I've always wanted an indoor pool! And with all that land, I'd get more dogs and maybe some cats (I love cats but have never had one). Maybe even horses, though I'd need to hire someone to show me how to take care of them.

I would really give quite a bit to charity, there are so many worthy charities out there that could really use more funding. I know I'd want to be involved with community redevelopment, Habitat for Hummanity, Humane Society and/or other animal welfare organizations. I'd also donate mone towards medical reserch for Parkinson's and Diabeties, since I have loved ones with those conditions. Oh, and Make a Wish, can't forget them!

Right on Papa Deuce - I'll be enjoying it too!!

I will:

get a good investment adviser

set up a big fat trust fund for DD and some of my nieces and nephews. Yes, I said SOME of them.

make a large donation to Catholic Social Services

get a house

drop out of sight, maybe change my name - definitely not tell most of my family where I am...
