We have a Poly ressie but I just found out we can stay for free at the Dolphin. If i make that reservation, add it to my MDE account, and then cancel the Poly one, will we lose our fastpasses?

Thanks!

As long as you have valid ticket media linked and the Dolphin reservation linked to MDE prior to canceling Poly, you should be fine. Just note, sometimes it takes the Dolphin/Swan reservations about 24 hours to appear in MDE after linking the confirmation number, so I would make sure everything is linked prior to canceling Poly.

Please let us know how it goes, I'm in a similar situation where we were planning on family members coming - they bailed on us and now we have to switch hotels but are already in midstream. I think we're fine but I'd be interested if it effects you at all.

As long as you have park tickets linked to your MDE account then you'll be fine. But if your Poly reservation is a package with tickets once you cancel it you'll lose your FP+'s. Even if you have the Dolphin linked to your account and you then cancel Poly and it has tickets as part of the Poly package you will still lose your FP+'s, because your account won't have any tickets in them and that's what you need to make FP+'s not a room reservation.

For example we were booked at POFQ for August in a room only reservation. We had bought our park tickets on disneyworld.com and linked them to our MDE. Three days ago we got a great deal on Priceline for a room at the Swan so we booked it and canceled our room at POFQ. So because we couldn't link our Swan ressie for 36 hours after making them and had canceled our POFQ stay our MDE didn't have a hotel linked to it, but it did have our park tickets linked and were within the 30 day FP+ booking window, so our FP+'s were saved. Moral of the story is just make sure you buy park tickets and link them to MDE and then cancel Poly and you'll be good to go.

If your FP+'s our more than 30 days out but under 60 days out then you will have to make sure you have the Dolphin linked to your account before canceling the Poly.
