If I say it out loud, will my wish come true.. PTR May 2011(Link to TR pg41)

So Chef Mickey's wasn't that good huh? I'm wondering if I should loose that one too. It's buffet, right? Aw man!! Ya'll got me rethinking stuff!!! LOL

Pink...the only reason I love the dining plan is because of it being pre-paid, and you don't have to look at prices and such. But it's not for everyone. I loved Ohana dinner, their breakfast was pretty awesome too :) Kona dinner is really good....so is Tonys in the MK. I never been to Mama Melrose's, but we walked by it last night, and it smelled WONDERFUL!!!

Wow this is the fastest moving ptr ever! :goodvibes

As for adrs, if you like seafood you must do the Cape May dinner! We loved it so much we wanted to go twice during our stay but couldn't get a second adr there.

Beaches and Cream has the best burgers in WDW IMO :thumbsup2

Okay.
I think I have my breakfast ideas figured out.

Now onto lunches and dinner.

Lunch
Sci-fi is Caitlin's pick Great pick, Caitlin

I would like to try Beaches and Cream
and the Plaza. Now that I have been shuffling my days around I am having a hard time squeezing in the Plaza. We have never done Beaches and Cream, but we LOVE The Plaza -- it is always our last meal of the trip

Is it too many cheeseburger/fries places. DH is a burger kind of guy though.

Dinner
My top pick is Via Napoli
I am going to try for Mama Melrose Fantasmic PackageLove Mama Melrose

That leaves me with 1 more. Right now I have Ohana dinner. I loved it last time but am wondering if I should try something new. But what?

I really think that if I end up dropping Ohana dinner and CM no dining plans would be the way to go.

We have done Cape May Cafe for dinner -- very good as well as Biergarten and Rose & Crown if you want something in the park.

I commented on your others as well in red.

I liked Chef Mickey for dinner. I liked the characters and we all had fun. I am a pretty picky eater and I was able to find enough to eat. I don't know how breakfast is though.

I am really debating the dining plan. If we were to do CM, Ohana and Akershus it would make sense. If we do SciFi, Beaches and Cream and Plaza it is kind of like just paying Disney extra money.

DH is allergic to shellfish so Cape May for dinner is out. I have this fear he'll have an allergic reaction and refuse to ever go back to Disney.

I really hope we are able to try Beaches and Cream. I guess it will just depend on how busy it is when we try to get in.

Thanks for your comments. I always see you mention the Plaza on your TR's. I really want to try it. I am hoping I can squeeze it in.

I know everyone makes a big deal about Beaches and Cream and the burgers there, but I didn't see what the big deal was! It just tasted like a cheeseburger to me! :confused3 And the service was terrible, really slow, and it wasn't even busy, we got right in, and there was no line and it wasn't full inside.

However, I had an chocolate ice cream soda too, and their chocolate ice cream is the best ice cream ever!

I've heard Hurrican Hannah's has the same burgers. If we can't make it for lunch I guess we could go there. I do want to try the No Way Jose. I hope we can at least stop in to get ice cream.

I am still going back and forth on our dining plans so I went to take a look at the dining review I did from our last trip. Right now for our AK day I have no breakfast planned other than hitting the food court. Lunch would be counter service somewhere and dinner would be T-rex. In my dining review I came across these yummy plates of goodness.

Boma breakfast
We loved it last year and the pictures are making me want to return. I don’t want a TS breakfast everyday so it would be Boma or Kona.
Has anyone tried both? They both seem to be favorites for breakfast.

all caught up! we love Kona breakfast, super yummy!:goodvibes the tonga toast is sooooo good!:worship: never tried boma breakfast tho. also, zebra domes are uber yummy ^.^ you get like 6 of them for a snack credit at the mara.:thumbsup2

I think I am the only person who does not want to try tonga toast. I don't like bananas so the filling doesn't sound good to me. Then, again I thought ohana's bread pudding sounded gross and it was :cloud9:

When we went to AKL I was looking for the Mara and didn't see it. We ate at Boma and went outside to look at the animals. How do I get to Mara from there?

You just made my morning...that looks so yummy!!

It was good! I didn't try any of the more interesting dishes either. I will have to be a bit more adventurous if we go back.

Didn't you say your aren't a big breakfast person?

I'm not!! But I have to say that your pics look good! And I do like fruit, no matter the time of day...and hadn't yet eaten when I posted:rotfl:!

Mmmm that breakfast at Boma looks good! They have an omelet station, right? Like Crystal Palace? Kona looks good for breakfast too, but it seems like people mainly go for the Tonga Toast, and if you don't want that, go to Boma for breakfast! Why don't you do Kona for dinner? We did last year and it was SO good! :cool1:

Like you, we've done Boma for breakfast and loved it so much we had to go back this year. We were supposed to go to Kona this year because DH wanted the Big Kahuna, but little urchins the night before had wiped us out so we never got there. So I'm not much help...am I? :confused3

Never look at pictures of Disney food before you have eaten. Nothing that you make will come close. The fruit was spectacular last May. :)

I think they have an omelet station but I'm not 100%. I don't really like eggs all that much. Although the goat cheese eggs on the plate were awesome.

I'm am thinking of saving Kona for a trip when we stay closer to the Poly. Or maybe when we stay at the Poly (I can dream right?)

I am afraid if I book Kona for dinner I will get there and wish I had booked Ohana. Maybe I'll just stay away from the Poly altogether this trip.

:laughing:Nope, that was no help at all. I think I am leaning towards Boma. It just seems easier to stop there on our AK day instead of stopping at Kona on our Universal day.

when you go to the pool go to left near the restrooms. next to the simba's clubhouse thing :)

Today is Caitlin’s Fall Harvest Party at school and she asked to wear her hair like Princess Leia. I figured I needed some practice so I gave it a shot. Of course I could only find 6 bobbie pins and I don’t have hairspray but it worked for now. They are not allowed to wear their costumes to school for some reason. I am guessing b/c the school is having a big Halloween party tonight that you have to pay to attend. Any tips on making the hair better?

You can also see the space from her missing tooth. It finally came out on Wed. night.

I got my new purple wristlet. I am happy with it. The only thing I don’t love is that it is the same pattern on the bottom as on the top, but I like the pattern so I am happy.

Sorry the pictures are so big. I have tried about 10 times to resize them and they all should be the same size but only one shows up the correct size.

OMG, I LOVE that wristlet!!! I am green with envy at this very moment!!!

I do Kassidy's hair like that just for fun all of the time, LOL. We call them "fun buns". I think you did a great job!

Isn't it fantastic? I love it and am very glad I bought it. Of course now Caitlin wants one. I had a hard enough time spending the money on myself.

Thanks! Once I did her hair I was thinking she should wear it like that more often. Her hair is usually all of the place and she will never let me put it back. Maybe she'll agree if I offer to do the buns.

Apparently having too much time to myself is never a good thing. I was sitting here this morning thinking about our trip in May and I thought of an idea. A great idea. DH came home for lunch and of course I pounced. I had to share the great idea. Something to make this trip the best trip ever. It took some convincing but DH has finally said his typical “whatever”. (Oh yeah. It is such a great idea I have to keep it a secret for fear if I do say it, it won’t happen. If it does happen I’ll write all about it in my trip report and if it doesn’t I’ll let you in on what the plan was)

I tried to think of some people who have evil plans but could only come up with 3.

That came along with something else. DH seems to think that going to Disney every year is not normal and that by me spending time on the Disboards I get the idea that it is normal. We now have a bet starting tonight at midnight. No disboards for 3 weeks. He seems to think that if I stay off the boards I won’t talk about the trip as much. I think that if I win I will have $50 and DH will realize I will still talk about the trip all the time.

I am a little sad that my ADR date falls in this time since I can come on and post but at least I will have everything figured out and I can give the final list.

Caitlin and I were watching Ratatouille last night and she mentioned about seeing Remy at EPCOT. She said she would rather see him than the princesses at Akershus. What do you guys think? Cancel Akershus for Chefs de France? We can find most of the princesses in the park and to be honest Caitlin just wants to have them sign her book. I wouldn’t tell her about Remy being at Chefs de France in case he is not there anymore or broken so she doesn’t get disappointed.
