check in at the AKL using a AP discount, where do I go to activate it? Thanks!!!

You don't have to activate your voucher for the "real" Annual Pass before you check in. If you are asked for verification for the discounted rate, explain that you have a voucher. Then all you have to do is activate it within the next 24 hours (and surely you are visiting a Disney park by then?) and show the pass at the front desk to have the discount applied.

If you're uncomfortable with that, you can go to Downtown Disney's Guest Relations and get it activated there. Just remember that the pass begins on that date. So if you have no plans to go to a park that day, you are a little better off waiting until your first park day.

Also, since you are at AKL, the closest place to activate it is AK Guest Services if you arrive before they close. It used to be that you had to show your pass, but since you can book a Best Rate with a voucher, they have changed that I guess.

Or you can activate it at any park. The AK is close to the AKL.

Can you activate at the Disney store located in the airport? Or is that just for purchasing APs?

I talked to a cast member at the Disney store at the airport last week, and she informed me that you cannot buy activated AP's at the airport anymore. She said that they just have the vouchers now also, so I don't think that you can activate them at the airport.
