what should I do?

Looking for ideas for my 14 yo daughter and I to do. We are on a budget trip, 1 day in each park. But I got a great deal on our cheap motel so now I am looking for a special thing for the two of us.

Our trip will be July 31-Aug 3.

Tea party at the DL hotel was something we were going to do, but it’s all Pixar themed and looks like way too much food coloring even though it looks fun. (Silly but I can taste it)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Becky

Do a package where you get preferred seating for a parade or show. That's always very cool.

So many things come to mind. She could get a hoodie or a purse and a stuffed animal or other souvenirs, drinks and dinner at Carthay (we had no desire to go there until my 15 yr old DD saw a picture of the rose petal soda), do the churro challenge (even if you're not AP)or enjoy other snacks/food in the parks that may not have been in your budget before, or enjoy a relaxed meal together at Blue Bayou. I think the Fantasmic dining package is out of your price range but you could both eat at Blue Bayou for under $100. Maybe matching mother/daughter shirts for day 2.

I agree with PPs that a dining package would be really cool! The Fantasmic package for River Belle is $45 each, so it'd be a bit over $100 with tax and tip. Blue Bayou has a lunch option that is $59 a piece. There is also the on-the-go Hungry Bear option which is even cheaper ($30).

If nighttime entertainment isn't your thing, you could put the money toward just a normal meal at Blue Bayou with some money leftover for a special souvenir or another treat throughout the parks. It's a bit pricey, but the experience is like no other!

I would upgrade my tickets to parkhopper so if the crowds were unbearable in one park, hope on over to the other and have fun there.

I actually toyed with making them park hoppers, but I feel like we might get less done by focusing on both parks. I want the full immersive experience because there is just so much to do. In my mind, with only 2 days that would make us zip zag all between both parks and then miss the smaller details. I could be totally wrong though!

The night show dining option is a good one. I think I would love that but my daughter isn’t as into shows as I am. Maybe I can feel her out. It would be fun to surprise her if I had a better idea.

After all the walking that goes into a long summer day in the parks, she might enjoy the rest break while viewing entertainment.

If you chose the park days based on EE/MM, watch the schedule. Disney sometimes will have it at both parks during busier times.

I would also do park hoppers. I think DL always needs a bit more than DCA. If you plan it out you should not be zig zaging. It is less stressful to know you can go back if needed than trying to cram everything in one day. Sometimes we see something in one park we want to buy and wait for another day and we end up having to go back to the same park because we could not find it anywhere else.

Our days usually start at DL then after we do the musts or most of them we head over to DCA in the evening. Then we start out at DCA and head over to DL in the evening. We usally do at least three days though.

My daughter that age says rose gold ears and MaxPass to get on all the big rides and get the included pics...and churros and Dole Whip! She says it’s all about the pics and you have to have cute ears! :) She went for a day with 4 friends last month and that’s what they all spent their money on.

i would get a caracature or portrait painting of the two of you. They do this at DCA and DL. our kids wanted this done when we were. and fun and a great souvenier.
