If I decide to visit WDW for an afternoon after my cruise in early December...?

Here's the deal: I am going on my first-ever 7-Day cruise from November 27-December 4, 2004. My flight doesn't go out of MCO until 6:30pm, and, since we will be disembarking around 9am, I will have plenty of time to visit WDW for a quick visit on the 4th. I'd really love to visit the "monorail" resorts in particular to enjoy the Christmas decorations. I'd also love to have a special meal. Any ideas where to have lunch??

Thanks!

There's the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary, GF Cafe at the GF and Kona Cafe at the Polynesian all open for lunch.

I would make a point to visit GF and WL to be sure. Their decorations are beautiful. You could eat at a restaurant at either resort. You could also do the afternoon tea at GF. One tea choice includes small sandwiches, pastries, and a choice of scones and devonshire cream or strawberries and cream. I believe the tea begins at 2:00. If you have more time, go visit YC&BC, and BWV. They also have very nice decorations.

We just got off the Wonder last Thursday. We had late seating so didn't have to be to breakfast until 8am. We weren't supposed to go home until Sunday but because of Frances changed our flight to 6:30pm that night. We had an earlier breakfast at Beach Blanket and were off the ship at 7:30am so we could enjoy the MK for a while before our flight. Last year post cruise we spent a few hours at DD before our 2:30pm flight. The drive from the port to WDW takes a little over an hour.

"Resort Hopping" sounds like a fun idea. Maybe instead of a sit down meal you could "pick" at the different resorts. (After a 7 night cruise you could easily do without one more big meal ;) ). Warning - you are not going to like "paying" for all the food you're used to getting for "free"! Try to pick the specialty food at each resort and share if you like, e.g. a Kona coffee at the Poly, chocolate covered pretzels at the CR, a hamburger from Beaches and Cream at the Y&B Club, a corn dog at the BW, etc... (any other ideas anyone??)

Have fun and enjoy your trip! :boat:
