In the big scheme of things, I should be strung up by my toes for only having this to be sad over.....

My parents, sister, BIL, and 2 nephews are all spending a week down in WDW. They are asking me to fly down over Memorial Day (my daughter can't miss school) and join them for that weekend. I crunched the numbers and I can't get it below 2k. That seems like A LOT of money to spend for 2.5 days at the park.

My mind keeps going back and forth - we need some work done on our house/seeing my girls enjoy WDW with their g-parents and cousins is worth 2k. We should be stashing money away for our upcoming adoption/our youngest has never been to WDW and we may as well go now before we have to buy another plane tix for a 3rd child........see what I mean?

Again, there are millions of people who whish this was all they had to bum them out.

But, I wanna go...

I would visit the budget board, there are always great topics on how to save money for trips and save money on the trip too.

I paid for my trip to WDW with my tax return...

I understand. My mom wanted me to go with her the week after Thanksgiving. But we just don't have the money. So she is going and I am not. Oh well.

Have you looked behind the cushions on the couch???

I can relate! My DH finally agreed to go to DLR, but only if it was during Christmas Break. I got everything priced for the trip and we have just enough money to go. No money for gas or food. I guess we'll eat PB&J! (I do have money on a Disney Rewards card to help with expenses some in Disneyland.) It will be worth it just to finally go!

:earsgirl:

I was about to post that we should all have little "Emergency Disney Fund" accounts. . . until I realized that I'd start planning "Emergency Disney Vacations" as soon as I opened the account! :rotfl2: There's just no way that would work in my world.

I second the post about checking the Budget Boards. Wow, those folks have some creative strategies! Since it's a few months away, I wouldn't say no just yet--but I also wouldn't say yes. Who knows what could be coming your way in the next six months? :confused3

The toughest choices are when my wallet disagrees with my heart.

Good luck!

P.S. Damo, when I checked behind MY couch cushions I found an empty raisin box, two pennies, a Matchbox car, a Dora DVD and the missing remote control. I suggest trying last year's coat pockets next! :goodvibes
