$$$, they have to pay a fee of between 2-4% (give or take) depending on the card type and their specific contract. Some will take cards for the deposit only though I suspect this is in violation of their CC user agreement to deny card usage for some services but not others. Some companies have taken cards for the entire purchase in the past on a case by case basis. Some might if you agree to pay extra to cover the fees and some might take paypal though I don't know what's involved with paypal as an overseas member.Thank you, that sounds good, I am in UK and know that resale agents won't take card payments so I could buy a small contract cash money transfer from them and then purchase using a card with Disney direct.
Anyone know why resale agents won't take card payments?
Hi, if I bought a small resale 25 or 50 points would I then be able to buy small addons from Disney Direct again around the 25 / 50 point mark. Or do I need a minimum amount of points to be able to buy addons from Disney.
Not necessarily. Contact the usual suspects and ask. I'd bet someone will say OK to make the sale. If not, email me directly and I'll give you some additional suggestions.Timeshare store advertise on ebay, does this mean they accept paypal?
Thanks
Yes, not only that, for less than the direct purchase amount (? 160), it must be the same UY.When you purchase an add-on direct from Disney, can you specify the UY?
Unless you can find someone who will let you look at their POS or send you one, I'm not aware of where you can review one prior to purchase. You can buy then cancel within 10 days, even resale. When you buy direct, fees are prorated from the LATER of when you sign, when the resort opens or when your "unit" comes online. Currently for add ons, there are no closing costs. Many people (if not most) overpay on maint fees on resale, that can be an issue for a larger contract but not so much on a small one as we are discussing here. One does have to look at the overall package as well as their own needs.Thx Dean. Couple more questions.
1) Is there somewhere I can review the DVC contract with rules and regs before the purchase?
2) I realize purchasing through resale involves closing costs/commission and a negotiated agreement with seller regarding current year maintenance fees. If purchasing an add-on from Disney, are the MF's prorated for the balance of the calendar year and what are Disney's costs?

True but not as your primary purchase directly from Disney. You must already be an owner to do it the way you suggest. The OP is looking at buying in for a small number of points then adding on later, likely in small increments as the cash is available. Once you're an owner, even if you only own the 25 points, you can do as you say currently. You can also buy two 25 point contracts and finance them. That's what I did.(25 point contracts are the easiest to sell, plus I have 3 children and wanted to be able split them up)
