So, here is my question/problem...

I want to book my Disney vacation for June right this very minute..:goodvibes..but, as we all know there is not a June discount anywhere..:headache:

if I go ahead and book a full-rate package now (gasp!) and before my last payment is due there is still no Disney discount, can I call AAA and have them change my existing reservation to include a AAA discount?

I know I could book with AAA first, but I like booking it and getting the welcome package in the mail a few weeks before hand - and if I let someone else hit the "Book it" button that's a little less *joy* for me..

does that make sense? my question and my need for *joy*??

or am I completely out there?? :rotfl::rotfl:

AAA would have to fax a form or letter to Disney, signed by you, to take over the reservation, and it takes a day or two for them to transfer it. This can be done with a deposit on the package, but not for anything already paid in full. At that point AAA owns the res and any Mickey mail from that point on goes to the AAA office to forward to you and not to you directly from Disney.

ugh..that just sounds so sad..

like I lost my reservation or something...

*sigh* - why cant Disney just come out with a June discount so I can book and be done??!

just book with AAA now - at least you have that discount and you don't need to jump through hoops to get it moved if you did it yourself. the joys you are referring to aren't worth the hassle of moving the reservation.

I always book my trips myself and then transfer them to my AAA agent.
Never had an issue. That way I can make any changes etc.. once I am sure what I want/have.
I just call or send her and email with my reservation numbers and they are transfered over. Some I have had deposits and some I have already had paid in full and transfered.
My current one was paid in full and within 45 days and I let her know the # and she transfered it over.. very easy... :)

Why would you want to transfer your package to AAA? What are the advantages of AAA holding the reservation?

AAA gives a discount (usually there are better ones out there but sometimes AAA is the only thing)...

Also AAA gives you a parking pass (not free parking but up front parking) and there is a private viewing for the parade at MK and a special meet and greet with a story time at Epcot (I think this is right although I was told things were changing for 2012 so not sure what it will be).

But why would you transfer it over if it was paid in full? Does AAA adjust the package rate to reflect their discount and then reimburse you?

You can book a AAA room-only discount directly through Disney.

If you want a package, with tickets and dining, and the AAA discount on the room portion, you must either book through AAA or transfer the reservation to AAA. The AAA travel agent should know how to do it.

I booked thru AAA but I had already looked at the prices on the Disney site. The prices were exactly the same. I just went with AAA because of the ease of booking with a "live" person versus over the phone. I am still hoping for a code but since my trip isn't until November I am just living in hope.
