If I book now without a code, does that mean I will be left out if they offer one?

Wanna go ahead and book but im afraid if I do and they already have my business they will leave me out of the mailings for the free dining or room discount codes if/when they come for a sept, nov., or dec. trip.

If you book now and a GP offer comes out that covers your dates, you should be able to apply the offer to your existing ressie if there is availability (normally not a problem). Now, if you're implying about pin code offers, that's a different issue altogether. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to pin codes. Some folks get numerous codes while others never seem to get any. I, for one, have been lucky to receive ONE pin code per year for the last 5 years, but I've never received multiple ones and once I booked my package using my pin code, I have never received another. Some folks here on the Dis have reported still getting pins even after they've booked their trip so again, pin codes are a mystery.

I just booked my Aug. trip using a pin code and will call and change to FD should that become available. Typically, Disney Visa card holders have been offered one at the end of april or early may for the time frame I'm going for and then after 3 days it is avail. to the general public. This has worked out fine for me. One thing I can suggest is that if you have no pin code, do you have AAA membership you can book now with to at least get some sort of discount? This is how I usu. play it when I have no pin.

In 2010 I booked our F&WF trip with a PIN code that only covered the first two nights of our trip. A month or two later I got a second PIN code that covered all four nights of our stay so I called and applied it. So yes, IME, you can still get a code after you book. And like the others said, if a General Public code comes out you can apply that after you've booked. Good luck!!!:goodvibes

The only time we received a pin code was on our last trip after we had already booked it, so it apparently didn't keep us from getting one. After receiving it, I called and they adjusted my rate by applying the pin.

My only caveat to booking, is that there is a chance that no discounts will be come available. So never book expecting to get a discount. And book knowing that if you are dead set on a certain room type at a certain resort, you may be blacked out of discounts. Since discounts are set based on availability, by booking now, you may be the person who kicks the room count in that category from discount, to no discount. But if you are just looking to say, stay at a moderate, then you should be fine. For instance, you may be able to book POFQ now, but may need to switch to CBR as POFQ may be blacked out for that discount. The only times you need to book now are if you have a certain room request, IE Pirate Rooms, or are booking during a high demand period. Otherwise if you are happy with a room at a given price, you can almost always wait until it gets closer and discounts get released. (If any do)
