When is the deposit due? I know they will hold the package for a bit if you're undecided, but I can't remember how long. TIA

I believe deposits are due within 10 days for packages and room only. However, make sure the CM states the day the deposit is due. I had one recently give only 3 days for a hold????

I just called and Disney will give you a 14 day "courtest hold" and I have till June 27 to place my $200.00 deposit and the rest of my "pachage " is due by Aug 20th for my october 4-9 trip... Hope that helps..

Wow it seems like it depends on who you get on the phone. Either of you(or anyone else) know what the "official" hold time is?

The official hold time in 14 days. I just did this for both a package and a room only (2 sep. ressies). They will give you an exact date on the phone. They will also send you email reminders once it gets closer to that due date.

As far as paying off the balance of the package, its 45 days from your check in date.

Ok Part 2. How long before arrival do I have to cancel to get our $ back? IF there predicted hurricanes as we get closer than I'm gonna cancel. This is so confusing I don't know what to do.

Right from the Disney website for packages:
For a cancellation made 44 to 6 days prior to arrival, there is a cancellation fee of $100 per package plus any cancellation fees assessed by hotels or other suppliers.

For a cancellation made 5 days or less prior to arrival, there is a cancellation fee of $200 per package plus any cancellation fees by hotels or other suppliers. No refunds will be given to no-shows. For a change made 44 days or less prior to arrival or that results in a rate change, there is a change fee of $50 per package plus any change fees assessed by hotels or other suppliers. For changes, the change fees must be paid in addition to any increase in rate resulting from the change.

So if we decided to change back to October due to weather, could we transfer our package or would we lose our free dining? I think I know the answer to this, but I figured I'd ask anyway

I honestly think you may have to ask CRO for that one, but I am under the assumption that the dining package for free is only valid until October 4. But maybe if you rescheduled your package to arrive there on October 4th, you could keep it.

Hmmm, good point. I will ask when...I mean if....I make the ressie. We had a ressie last year in Sept in the middle of all the hurricanes and they let us cancel with no penalty. Just thought they might make exceptions if you're canceling b/c of extreme circumstances like a hurricane. I will find out though. Thanks to all for the help. still have to talk DH into the switch tonight so I wanted to have my facts straight before I pitch him.
