If I add on now.....do I get 07 points?

Thanks....I hope not....just worried that with concierge and value rooms, along with the established restaurants and kids club....
that Jambo house might become it's own DVC....

I hope that points become available in my april use year....I think that
would make me more comfortable.

Given the separate nature of the buildings and check in, I'm a little surprised they didn't make it two resorts and from my standpoint, I wish they would.

Dean, why would you wish that? I am curious. When I bought in, Kidani was the big selling point. I like the fact that we will have the variety of the two buildings withe the different point levels. The additional baths in Kidani will also be a plus. That may incline some people to book a standard one or two br at Kidani as opposed to a Savanna view at Jambo if they really need the extra baths.

Also remember that the models that we were shown were Kidani models.

First, I think the fact they are together but separate is going to be a logistical problem. I do realize some of the benefits of doing them together such as selling all options available and sharing expenses which will likely be more for the Jambo house. My main reason for preferring they be separate is that the concierge and value rooms are likely to be the ones I'll look at most stays there. If the two components were separate, it would mean potentially less competition for those options. I also think the Kidani portion will be much easier to book overall and thus would be less of a problem 7 months out to book with any points. It would also be a plus for anyone that wanted to stay at the newer building, just wait and buy points from that resort if they were separate.

Please don't get the impression this is a big deal for me or something that I am pushing for, it really isn't. Simply that given the choice, the better choice for me would be they were separate. The truth is even if they were I might own points in both.

LisaS, my documents for my Add-ons say Unit 2...Jan 29,2008. :goodvibes
I guess that AKV is really ahead of schedule. Unit 2 looks smaller than all of the other areas, also. Wonder why? Anyhow, I have been busy spending my
Dev. Pts since I am at my seventh month window! I have an August use year and got my 2007 points, which my Guide banked.

Most of the units consist of more than one villa. Unit 2 (and all other units that are the same shape) consists of 3 dedicated studios. Unit 1 is one Grand Villa. Unit 3 consists of two 2BR lockoffs. Units 47 and 50 (along the front of the resort) consist of 4 dedicated studios, 2 each on either side of the connecting walkway between those building segments. So there are a few variations. Here is the complete list:

New Units (10/11/07):
1: GV
2: 3 dedicated studios
3,4,5,6: 2 2BR lockoffs

Previously declared Units:
23: 1 Grand Villa
24, 26: 3 dedicated studios
25, 27, 28, 29: 2 2BR lockoffs

30: 4 dedicated studios
31, 34: 1 Grand Villa
32, 33, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39: 2 2BR lockoffs

40: 2 2BR lockoffs
41, 41A: 3 dedicated studios
42, 43: 2 dedicated studios, 1 2BR lockoff
42A, 44, 44A, 45, 45A: 1 2BR lockoff

46, 48, 49: 2 2BR lockoffs
47, 50: 4 dedicated studios

51, 52, 53, 56: 2 2BR lockoffs
54, 55: 3 2BR lockoffs
NOTE: 55 and 56 are the Concierge units!

Totals:
Dedicated Studios: 31
2 BR lockoffs: 59
GVs: 4

As I noted above, I think there's really no chance of this happening. The only way I'd see it making any difference would be if they did later make them separate (before sales) and you'd know that up front. If you want Jambo and don't feel the extra competition is enough to sway you, I wouldn't hesitate buying into the new building planning mostly to stay at Jambo.

Dean and LisaS, thanks for the clarifications and explanations!

It is fascinating to see things take shape! So much thought and planning seems to be going into the entire project. IMHO, AKV will be like nothing we will see anywhere else.

We will be staying there in JulY! Can't wait!

Haven't current Jambo AKV buyers been shown the models of Kidani and told that Jambo and Kidani would ALL be the same AKV? At this point, you could have Jambo AKV buyers really upset that they can't book a 1 BR with 2 full baths in the new section, be near the new pool area, etc. I could see it going both ways. IMHO, as I don't see any financial benefit to DVC to break them up, and I see a possible big uproar if they suddenly split them, I can't imagine they would be split.

I don't see the possibility of them splitting them up. If not a contractual violation, it would be, at the very least, seen as deceptive by buyers like nyself whose unit is in Jambo. It would set a very bad precedent for future resorts that might have more than one building. The AKV point charts are already done as well.

Thanks for all the great responses:goodvibes

I'm a bit of an alarmist unfortunately.....you guys are right....I'm sure they
would not split them up.....would seem slightly deceptive....

If points are available in my use year.....their mine:goodvibes

It is not a contractual violation at this point whether they didn't build anything else or made them separate. But I agree there are other implications and don't think there's much likelihood that they would stop the resort or make the two components separate at this point.

Dean,
A good, lively discussion. In terms of them stopping the resort, DVC mike's photos posted today show thatKidani construction is well underway

When we bought in November ar DL our Villa is located in Jambo. Anyone who owns should be welcome to use either or. Imagine how the Kidani owners would feel if they could never have concierge because they did not own at Jambo!

As all who bought have signed they understand, they could still build that portion and not include it in DVC if they chose.

Yes Dean, that is possible. However, we have to keep in mind what is merely possible and what is probable. I think the chances of DVC actually doing what you suggest as a possibility are slim to none. DVC has made two many "promises" (true, non-binding) and would really hurt their reputation by doing that.

I called my guide last night to check what is available in my use year.

BTW....her name is Nelida and she is on the cover of
the "Disney Files"...she was real excited about that....

I specifically asked her if I am buying in Jambo house.....she said it didn't matter because it is one big AKV......of course everything could change and
she just wouldn't know now....I don't think so though...

I also have her checking if any WL points are available.....curious what
she says is available....cause it was reported here that AKV in april use yr was
"sold out":confused3

Each unit is tied to a particular Use Year. There are a lot of Jambo House units still to be declared. If they are currently sold out of April UY points, maybe one of the next units to be declared will be an April UY unit. The question is, will it start with the April 2008 UY or April 2007 UY.

And that is all I said, I believe I was quite clear that I didn't think any of these negatives were at all likely, only that they were technically possible.
