Ok, IF they're adding a new ride there and changing LC, would they be telling everyone that it's all "previously unused" land?

I mean if most of it was going to change LC you'd think they wouldn't put that in there.

Nothing has been confirmed. The article you read that from was just more speculation. Keep in mind that other "sources" have even claimed it would be an entirely new park, which I can tell you right now, isn't happening.
